I purchased this for my kids who are 5 and 8, and they really enjoy it. I can see how it helps them wind down and relax and fall asleep. The music and voice are calm and relaxing. I highly recommend the content for your children.
Things you should consider before downloading the Audible format.
- This is in a book format, so you can't put this in a iTunes playlist with one of the tracks followed by other soothing music.
- The chapters are not labeled, so you can't easily choose the meditation you want. You can't edit the chapter names to fix this.
- A little nit-picky, but the artwork that comes with the download is not what you see on the Audible site, it's a very low resolution picture of an older artwork. The text is illegible. You can't change this.
Overall - great meditations. I wish I had found this earlier. To do it over, I would buy the CD off of Amazon instead.
Married, not quite 40 mom from the mid-west. I sit behind a computer all day translating large amounts of data into business solutions.
My 4 year old son was struggling to get into a healthy bedtime routine and settle down for the night. Adding Chrisiane Kerr to our nightly routine has changed that. Both my 4 year old a 7 year old request to listen to her when they get tucked in and I don't hear a peep out of them once I hit play.
I play this audio for my 5 year old boy as soon as he goes to bed. Before a chapter is half over, he is always sound asleep. Works wonders for my boy.
The author/narrator is from the UK so some of the phrasing and even terms are different than what you would hear in the US and Canada. However in my opinion this is a plus, as the unique voice (to him) has created a positive association that seems to very quickly trigger calm and sleep.
My daughter is 8 an was having trouble at school integrating with the other kids which was effecting her sleep. These programs by Mr Kerr seem to be helping both the sleeping and the school situation because Hollie is more calm & rested & better able to use the info I am sharing with her about boundaries & dealing with other people.
I got this for my son (9), who is learning to deal with anxiety. I played it for him tonight and he was very excited and fell right off to sleep without a worry. What a gift for all of us.
I have been feeling anxious lately, which has made it hard to get to sleep. I thought the sample of Bedtime Meditations sounded fun and interesting, so I decided to give it a go. I was out like a light in no time and didn't wake until morning (usually when I'm anxious and fall asleep, it's hard to stay asleep).
It really helps her busy mind relax and fall asleep. She has always had trouble falling asleep until now ( shes 7).
"use of imagination"
I used to fall asleep next to my daughter. she always asks for the magic bed. very good.
"Works like a dream after a few nights"
Initially, my kids didn't get this. After a few tries, they now look forward to the story and it stops one chatting and keeping the other awake.
I did not like the reader she was very non realistic it was half half.
we have struggled to get our child to wind down in the evening, she gets far too excitable. we've found this really helps to calm her and help her drift off.
Wonderful but they should have way more stories than 3 but it does help you to go to sleepe
"Fantastic for busy child's bedtime"
Highly recommend. My son struggles to 'switch off' at bedtime. His brain goes into overdrive normally. This bedtime meditation has calmed him and managed to get him into a deep sleep within one chapter.
"Really nice. Use it myself too!"
A really nice audible cd for anyone in the family to use. very calming. thanks.
"Bedtime meditations for kids (amazing)"
Brilliant for going to bed, sometimes I even use it to help, wonderful narration and sound effects, has an almost Mahican feel to it.
"A bit to slow"
Could of been better but very good to it all haloed me get to sleep so good but a bit slow
"good way of helping my daughter get to sleep."
my daughter, 4, likes to delay going to sleep so we usually listen to audible in bed this is a helpful way of helping her settle down as stories often excite her rather than calm her down.
