I purchased this for my kids who are 5 and 8, and they really enjoy it. I can see how it helps them wind down and relax and fall asleep. The music and voice are calm and relaxing. I highly recommend the content for your children.
Things you should consider before downloading the Audible format.
- This is in a book format, so you can't put this in a iTunes playlist with one of the tracks followed by other soothing music.
- The chapters are not labeled, so you can't easily choose the meditation you want. You can't edit the chapter names to fix this.
- A little nit-picky, but the artwork that comes with the download is not what you see on the Audible site, it's a very low resolution picture of an older artwork. The text is illegible. You can't change this.
Overall - great meditations. I wish I had found this earlier. To do it over, I would buy the CD off of Amazon instead.
Married, not quite 40 mom from the mid-west. I sit behind a computer all day translating large amounts of data into business solutions.
My 4 year old son was struggling to get into a healthy bedtime routine and settle down for the night. Adding Chrisiane Kerr to our nightly routine has changed that. Both my 4 year old a 7 year old request to listen to her when they get tucked in and I don't hear a peep out of them once I hit play.
I have been feeling anxious lately, which has made it hard to get to sleep. I thought the sample of Bedtime Meditations sounded fun and interesting, so I decided to give it a go. I was out like a light in no time and didn't wake until morning (usually when I'm anxious and fall asleep, it's hard to stay asleep).
I listen with my son 5, what a pleasure he just drifts off to sleep.
I got this for my son (9), who is learning to deal with anxiety. I played it for him tonight and he was very excited and fell right off to sleep without a worry. What a gift for all of us.
Works great for my 5.5 yo. We also have enchanted stories (same author) and love that too. Another great (free) meditation app for kids is smiling mind.
I use this almost daily for my daughters. It helps both the 6 year old and 1 year old to calm themselves enough to drift to sleep. Such a life-saver, especially when they are fighting sleep!
There was a lot of talk about visualizing an alien. This is very creepy and I do not wish to have my child listen to this again.
Is there a way to get a refund?
I only joined audible yesterday and this was one of the first two CD's I bought. When I downloaded it, I never thought that it would work this wonderfully with my Kids.
I am a mother of four kids,11 years old girl,9 years old boy ,6 years old boy and 3 months old baby girl. The eldest three are very active and bed time is simply a daily nightmare for me with them.I really feel exhausted by the time I get them to sleep after that much of shouting and screeming when soft talk doesn't work.I have always run out of ideas to get them to sleep and it even got worse when I had to come to UK this year for my further studies because the flat I am living in is too small for them compared to the one we had back home.Changing the environment has made them even more excited about their school, their friends and their activities not to mention the nice city we live in in Scotland to the extent that going to sleep became such a difficult time for both of us.
We usually have fun in every thing we do throughout the day except the bedtime.I feel very upset after having to shout at them to take me seriously about going to bed especially that I know that these memories last for life.Yesterday I came across this CD and decided to give it a try.I have just finished playing it to them and for the first time in years I have had a nice wonderful bedtime with them listening to the CD.They have loved it soo much that they kissed me for it and begged me to make it part of their everyday bedtime rituals.I was so happy that I have decided to write the review right away for the mothers who have the same problem as I used to have.It really works wonders as I equally enjoyed it with them.
This is an excellent introduction to meditation for children but spoilt by very poor sound quality. Even when downloaded in the format E it is only 64kbps. The tracks have meditation sounds and audio and are not just spoken word, resulting in distractingly poor audio quality. I would pay the extra £2 and buy it in CD format...
"bedtime meditations thats for kids and for you too"
I got this for my little girl who is four to listing to after we have read to her and had her songs but at first i lay beside her and listen with her it was very relaxing and we both fell asleep to it, she doesn't have it every night but she really enjoys it when she does and sometimes i lay with her and enjoy it too so if you are looking for somthing that can help you kids get to sleep this is great and you can also enjoy it too. happy relaxing
"My daughters favourite wind down..."
The meditations are read so beautifully that I also enjoy listening to them with my daughter. A great little audiobook for active children that need a help winding down...
"Meditation for kids is a miracle worker"
I will rate this one million out of 10. The lady has a soothing English voice and talks directly to your child (+ me, hubby and cats), yes the cats listen as well, and uses language that a child relates to. For example, if you have any worries from school or home then place them on the worry tree, or in the boat and let them drift away etc. My child (8) will regularly ask for this especially if not a 100% well or has had a challenging day at school.. Superb.
"excellent my children love this"
my children love this at bedtime its part of our ritual now. they relax very quickly and are sound asleep.
"Bedtime meditations for kids (amazing)"
Brilliant for going to bed, sometimes I even use it to help, wonderful narration and sound effects, has an almost Mahican feel to it.
I loved it and I felt asleep halfway through. Its very good for kids that are bad sleepers. 😊☺😴😇
"A bit to slow"
Could of been better but very good to it all haloed me get to sleep so good but a bit slow
"good way of helping my daughter get to sleep."
my daughter, 4, likes to delay going to sleep so we usually listen to audible in bed this is a helpful way of helping her settle down as stories often excite her rather than calm her down.
