Publisher's summary

Becoming Magic is book one of a complete course in becoming creator of your own exceptional life. In this book, I outline the exact steps which enabled me to move my own life from one of poverty and drudgery, to one of previously unimaginable wealth, purpose and joy. But Magic? I do hope you are joking! That's what I would have said, five or ten years ago. I once despised all things 'New-Age'; all these spiritual types and their airy-fairy views, their bad science and their irrational beliefs. I had read The Secret and all the Law of Attraction greats, Wallace Wattles, Anthony Robbins, Rhonda Byrne, Napoleon Hill, Esther Hicks and Wayne Dyer. But no matter how closely I followed their instructions for manifesting money, love or happiness, I couldn't make it work. It was only when I recognised, accepted and finally embraced that what I was doing was actually some kind of Magic that suddenly things began to fall into place. Once I realised that the power came from within me, it was as if the light had suddenly been switched on. I learned how to manifest love and money, but I also learned how to be happy, truly happy. If you're jaded by the whole New Age idea of The Laws of Attraction, have become bored by their failure to deliver this book is for you. It is my intention to lead you by the hand through a marvellous journey of wonder and adventure, teaching you how to change your life, one step at a time.

with patience u get to the content

In the end I enjoyed the last few chapters. The first 7 chapters were literally about nothing. They were all just lead up about what the author was going to tell you. It was a little frustrating and I almost gave up. SERIOUSLY I bought another book and was about to switch when I decided to give it one more chapter. AND yes, she finally got to it. It was interesting and pleasant and original. I'm on the fence about buying the next book. I think ultimately I'll learn something but is it worth the frustration?

Great advice but logically flawed

Any additional comments?

If you're a critical thinker, you may find yourself slightly annoyed by this audiobook. However, her advice to stop being negative and her tactics on how to do that are valuable. I would have given this less stars but for the fact that despite how long it took her to get to the point, it's actually valuable advice. As someone who knows quite a bit about the law of attraction, it was refreshing to hear someone point out how duality of mind can get in the way (if you are visualizing wanting things, you're also subconsciously visualizing your lack of them). Anyway, I didn't hate it, but it could have been reduced to a half our.

Refreshingly down to earth

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I am a newbie to this LoA and manifestation stuff, and have been reading a variety of self-proclaimed experts on it. This is the only one that sounds like the real deal, not least because it is a fraction of the cost of online courses and programs. The author does spend what seems to be an inordinate amount of time saying what her book isn't, and I eventually wondered if she would tell me what her book was. It gets better and clearer after the first read/listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

n/a

What does Fiona Hardingham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a clear, crisp reading style that is perfect for this book. She reads each word as if it matters.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

If you aren't working to change something in your life that you don't like, you shouldn't think about it at all.

Any additional comments?

Don't rush to get the second volume after getting this one. There is plenty of useful information in here. I have both of her audiobooks and all three of the books in the series, but this is the one that I keep coming back to. (When will volume 3 be recorded? I want it!)

My New Favorite -- Quick and Simple

What did you love best about Becoming Magic?

A lot of the reviews were concerned that she took a while to get to the "what to do" part.

However, I've been in the reality creation genre for about 3 years now, and a lot of the concerns I have had with the material from other authors, are exactly what she addresses. So I did appreciate the first half, and her explaining the setbacks that a lot of people have.

I also appreciated that the author attempts to establish credibility with the readers. She says that she donates all of her profits from these books to charity.

I REALLY appreciated her description of "snapbacks," as I just had one, and it's exactly what led me to this book.

Finally, I also liked that this was a short, and her techniques are very simple.

In summary, I am very excited to get going on the exercises, as you don't practice magic, you ARE magic.

Much ado over what it's not

There is some good info in this book but over half the book is devoted to declaring what it is not.

waste of paper and audio tape

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

That she actually teach something instead of talk about what she is going to teach you in other books ..

What was most disappointing about Genevieve Davis’s story?

She talks consistantly about what she is going to teach you rather than get down to business.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Fiona Hardingham?

her voice was nice ..The book was a waste

What character would you cut from Becoming Magic?

n/a

Any additional comments?

I would go to purchase new psycho cybernetics which is a great book if you havent already read it.

Literally the worst waste of time ever

This book spends the entire contents making excuses and warning you about why her (lack of tools) may not work for you.
Ridiculous.

The best book on The Law of Attraction I've read

I've read the Kindle version several times and I purchased this audiobook for another way to quickly review the material (and to hopefully get other members of my household to read/listen to it as well). The reader's pace and tone are easy to follow and set the mood for the topic.

The principles the author present make sense to me. I most like how she explains why other Law of Attraction methods haven't worked for me and emphasizes what I should be doing to improve my own attitude and beliefs.

I anticipate listening to this book again and again.

Deceiving tittle

After reading few other books on the subject of magick like "The Map" and "The Secret", I was disappointed with this one. The tittle was alluring and left me wondering so to buy the next books in the series. I felt I had just wasted my time and the little money I had spent on it. No, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone!!
