    "Loved it"

I loved the ebook, but the audiobook was fantastic, too. Caroline Lennon did a great job bringing Marianne's feisty prose to life. I bought this because I am a true believer in the free range philosophy, and this is something I'll want to go back and listen to in the future. There's a lot of content here, and it will definitely take a few listens to absorb it all. A fantastic job.

    "Life-Changing Ideas"
What did you love best about Be a Free Range Human?

Marianne Cantwell's book literally changed my life. She made me realize that I totally have the power and I do NOT have to stay penned (stuck) in to a life that others believed I should live.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Be a Free Range Human?

My favourite quote from the book is " Weaknesses Are Just Strengths in the Wrong Environment "! Simple, right??? But changed my life.

Which character – as performed by Caroline Lennon – was your favorite?

    Wasn't thrilled with the voices.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Start to Finish

    Any additional comments?

    Thank you Marianne!

    "Disappointing"
What would have made Be a Free Range Human better?

Resources needed to do exercises should be available in PDF on line so you can do exercises in book. So hard to go back & find exercises on audio version.

Would you be willing to try another one of Caroline Lennon’s performances?

No I didn't think her voice suited the book, more suited to a chick lit book like Marian Keyes.

    Any additional comments?

I contacted free range website about getting the resources & their response was that they had no involvement in the audio version & couldn't provide PDF resources. I didn't even finish the audio book as felt it was pointless if I didn't complete the exercises.

    "Fresh but limited"

On the whole there is not much new in this book but what you do get is a refreshing approach which looks at business start up in a much less pompous way than many other guides. It challenges some of the more traditional mantras that can be off-putting and overwhelming. There is genuine encouragement and enthusiasm in the author but the book is aimed at a specific type of business/self-employment (blogging/writing online) so is limited if your idea does not fit within the scope of the so-called free-ranger. There are some useful exercises throughout - you don't just read, you have to do stuff! There is a life-coaching element to this book, which as usual, tends to shun realism and the likelihood of failure. For me, a dose of reality is essential in order to move forward and I think certain factors that may seem negative should be acknowledged and dealt with rather than pushed aside - apparently, this may make me a 'beige' person...

"So good, I listened twice and will again!"
If you could sum up Be a Free Range Human in three words, what would they be?

    Encouraging, motivating, enabling

What other book might you compare Be a Free Range Human to, and why?

The Escape Manifesto: Quit Your Corporate Job - Do Something Different! It gives you the tools to DO something rather than just waffling on about an alternative life that someone else is enjoying, nor does it tempt you with an idea all the way through the book for you to find that it's just a book about a get rich quick scheme. It made me feel life I was empowered to actually follow in other peoples' footstep, not just watch them walk away from me with my dream!

Which scene did you most enjoy?

It's a non-fiction book, so no 'scenes' as such, but several of the real-life examples are great

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All of it, as it has made me realise that I CAN start now, without a huge amount of money behind me.

    Any additional comments?

Listen to it more than once - you will get something else from this fantastic book every time that you listen to it!

Good luck with breaking free :)

    "THE most fantastic "self-help" book"

I don't think I have ever read a better "self-help" book. Well and clearly delivered, stuffed with really useful links, information and exercises, this is not your average coaching volume. The only possible disadvantage to listening on audible rather than reading is precisely the wealth of weblinks, which are far more difficult to note when read out loud, and that is is more difficult to break off to do exercises than it would be in hard copy.

I think this is going to prove a life changing tome... Don't hesitate an instant.

    "Fabulous, easy listening and informative"

I have listened to this book in just under a week, thoroughly enjoyed it and will be looking for other books by Marianne Cantwell. I have found plenty of useful info in this book and intend listening to it again several times just in case I missed anything. The narrator Caroline Lennon is very easy to listen to.

    "Inspiring!"

I love this audio book, it opens your mind to a completely new way of thinking and is full of really useful, relevant practical advice. I'm on my 3rd listen now and even considering buying it in book format to get the web addresses etc. all in one easy place for reference.

    Can highly recommend!

"Practical how-to guide with insightful questions"

A guide full of personality, mostly common sense with really good insights into what to do or not to do, from the many case studies. The author asks questions to focus the mind on what works for you. There are many exercises and added value for the listener, so the 'bookmark' function of the Audible Android app was used lots.

"MOTIVATING, INTERESTING AND ENGAGING MUST LISTEN"

I was unsure about an audio version of a book, but I have to say that once you get passed the strangeness of listening to a voice reading to you, the experience gets better and better.

This particular book is highly recommended by me. The examples and inspirational and it puts your life into perspective. It wasn't repetitive and the actual case studies are transferable to an 'ordinary' person's life. If you are looking for something which helps to get you started with your new business projects, this is the book.

    "Pure Inspiration for the jaded"

I have downloaded many self help books, but this is my favorite by far. The author is pure inspiration. The beginning of the book goes through questions and answers which explore your inner depths, and what you want out of life.So many people are desperate to quit their jobs and live the free range lifestyle. If you are one of them, then this book is for you.I'm not going to say that you will be walking out of your job a week later, but it's a very good starting point. The only criticism is that I found a couple of chapters to be very corporate orientated, but the book is lengthy and there are lots of other chapters that are pure gold, for people from every background. I loved the ending, where the author talks about her mother, it's so sincere and heartfelt, you can't fail to be moved. I have no doubt I will listen to this book time and time again.

Narration and tone very down to Earth and encouraging. The information is real life applicable. Very good at encouraging each person to find their own path.
