This book was a requirement for one of my graduate courses. I decided to get the audio book because I tend to comprehend this format better than simply reading text.
I must say this book is very insightful. The author is the narrator, and he has a great voice. It isn't dull, nor is it annoying. He also reads at a pace that you can understand. Plus the author makes you feel as if he is speaking directly to you.
I really identified with several of the steps, but there were one or two that had a huge impact. One of them were "Act like an Ant." Yes, it sounds funny, but when you get to this section, you will surely see why it may be life changing.
I have the hard copy of this book, and have referred to it often. This is not just a boring book about the bible, although there are a lot of references to parts of it. The minor references are not offensive, and is suitable for everyone. Get this audio book if you're looking for a change in your life.
Businessman, Technologist, Marketer. Loves to learn and enjoys books. Mostly nonfiction plus historic novels.
I am very skeptical of self-help books so I was weary of getting this audiobook. I have read too many "you can do it, you can make your dreams real!" books. This is not one of them.
This book is like a manual for life. You may not find all 9 "things" to be new, or inspiring or even useful, but I am pretty sure you will learn a thing or two that will make the book worth your while.
The narration is excellent, there are plenty of examples. Overall an enjoyable read.
This book is one the best books I have listened to so far
Message is very clear about the 9 things we should practice
Play the movie
Highly recommend this book
It is so 'real'. He gives so many examples of which almost anyone can find ways they can relate to. I was fully engaged every time I listened to it. I've downloaded several audiobooks over the past few months, and this was one that I couldn't wait to get in the car and listen to on my commute too and from work.
"Play the Movie" - if you keep going now, what's your life going to be like? If you make changes, what's it going to be like? Very insightful.
A must read for anyone struggling with wanting more out of life and wanting to 'better' yourself. This was the first of the author's books that I've read. I look forward to reading (or listening) to more. His voice is perfect as the narrator as well. By far, even the best voice I've heard in an audiobook. Just real, calm, and smooth.
Hi, If you haven't listened to any books on boundaries, you should. With Audible you can listen before you buy.
Yes I would. These Psychologist help and heal.
I was like Jenny.
Sexy voice and as if he is talking to me to see my faults and to help others in the right way.
Trust in God and trust myself.
A big thank you to Gods wisdom that they follow and putting their voice on Audible and Paper.
Yes! It is the most helpful book I have ever read/listened to. I have great confidence that I will be able to apply the "de ja vu ways" outlined in this very well communicated book in order to become a successful de ja vu person in life and love and to be able to teach my children how to become the same.
Everything in the book moved me.
Easy to listen to stories with a point. Scripture reference support points. This review needs eight more words. Made it.
I am totally into building myself up spiritually, emotionally and relationship wise, so I like to listen to lots of books! :)
An easy listen with great information to make better decisions and become an overall better person. Christian principles to stand firm on! They work...just try it!
This is a MUST LISTEN TO. I wish I could hug the author. What a blessing. Recommend to everyone
I own a small design build firm. I read and enjoy lots of business books, but really prefer fiction.
I am two chapters (25:47) into this darn thing and I will not go further. There was nothing in what I read about this book that gave a clue that it was religious. There may be those who would like to claim that it is not; but citing chapter and verse from the bible over and over does make this an annoyingly religious book. Lo these 25 and three quarter minutes of wasted life and not a shred of wisdom or meaning. What we have is nearly half an hour of being told, in the vagest of ways that these nine unidentified things are going to make us a success in what ever way we choose to define success. I assume that one of these nine gems of wisdom will tell us not to follow miss-marked paths. Beware the path you will be headed down if you embark upon this book. Really, Audible, I want my credit back!
