"Chandler is like...an insane combination of Jerry Seinfeld and Anthony Robbins." (Fred Knipe, PBS TV writer)

Unvarnished, honest, serious but humorous.

Chandler says that human beings delude themselves in many ways. (He especially mentions the standard kind of self-help without sacrifice books; the "Get Rich While You Sleep" books.) Becoming better than you currently are requires hard work and hard decisions, and he doesn't pretend it doesn't. This book is never boring, never indecisive. It's also not a copycat of every other self-help speaker out there. (For one thing, his voice, although clear, is not that of a great orator. He speaks like an average human being, which is very comforting.)

Excellent Content

This book is full of great tips and insights. I didn't give the book a 5 star rating because I felt the reading could have been a little more animated. However, I have to stress that this is just a minor quibble. Once I got into it, I forgot about that and focused on the excellent and insightful content. I have already recommended this book to a few of my friends. This is definitely one that should not be passed by.

With its weight in goals!

I challenge anyone to read (listen to) this book and not realise they are being held back by at least 12 of the 17 lies. Very well read, poignant and liberating. Oxygen for positive thinking.Goes very well with The Four Principals by Miguel Ruiz.

Do yourself a favor

and get this book. The content is great, very helpful. The narrator could be a little more animated but he's passable. It's a good solid book with good solid advice.

Good Content...Bad Reader

The title of my review pretty much says it all.

Amazing truth

I listened to this audiobook three times in a row the first week after I purchased it. I was amazed at how many of the lies are part of our everyday life and we just don't realize it. I had to laugh when I saw myself and others I know in the examples he uses. This book makes you WANT to take responsibility for every aspect of your life and to stop relying on excuses. BE PREPARED TO SEE YOUR LIFE CHANGE BEFORE YOUR EYES!

ok info, boring monotone reading (by author)

The information in the book was ok, no real new insights. Often a book is better when read by the author but in this case could have been Much better if read by a professional rather than the author.

This isn't total crap... but almost.

Other reviewers listed how dull and monotone Chandler's delivery is with this book and I would agree with that. However, more than this is the limited perspective that the author himself has. He is like a dog unable to see the rainbow of possibilities because of his limited vision. Some of his information has value for those just beginning a conscious path, but for others who already have gotten these concepts, so much of it is just oversimplified and even misleadingly limiting crap.
