Publisher's summary

Mistborn: Secret History is a companion story to the original Mistborn trilogy.

As such, it contains huge spoilers for the books Mistborn (The Final Empire), The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages. It also contains very minor spoilers for the book The Bands of Mourning.

Mistborn: Secret History builds upon the characterisation, events and worldbuilding of the original trilogy. Listening to it without that background will be a confusing process at best.

In short, this isn't the place to start your journey into Mistborn (though if you have listened to the trilogy - but it has been a while - you should be just fine, so long as you remember the characters and the general plot of the books).

Saying anything more here risks revealing too much. Even knowledge of this story's existence is, in a way, a spoiler.

There's always another secret.

Excellent book. Highly recommend for Cosmere fans+

This book is amazing. It gives great insight into what Kelsier was doing after his death, between what he was doing before he pops back up in other stories.

******* SPOILER FOR RHYTHEM OF WAR *******

Kelsier has shown up on Roshar, the Stormlight Archive world. He is the leader of the ghost bloods and seems to be working towards something grand (more grand than ascending to a God it seems).

I really hope that Brandon ends up writing secret history parts 2 and 3, because I'd love to know how he finally gets off Scadrial and whether or not he interacts with Hoid some more.

Short and good

This story adds another dimension to the mistborn world. I enjoyed this new layer. Plus it does add new concepts and explanations.

On point!

I would really recommend this one right after hero of ages. It gives you that little more that you need after the end of a great story, a little threat to pull but also a satisfaction enough to stop and be happy about the story

Good story and performance but some voices changed

Great book!
Can't recommend if you haven't at least read the first 3 books of mistborn.
A bit of a shame that zaesid and spook's voices and accents changed

Very illuminating

Although I'm no expert, I really enjoyed this book and found that it fit perfectly after listening to the bands of mourning. It's surprisingly coherent given the revelations in the bands of mourning. Definitely worth the listen if you're interested in the series.

I laughed out loud several times, this is pure gold for a fan of the original trilogy
