The book itself and the reading of it (by Dr. Clarke) were great. Sadly, the audio was terrible. There is no high end and the audio is very muffled and barely tolerable at points. I downloaded audio format 4 and hope Audible can repair it and bring it up to par with their other recordings so that others can enjoy and learn from this book.
I'd certainly be willing to purchase another one of his books however not if it is a self narrated audio book. The audio quality if this book sounds as if it was recorded in some ones garage, there is a terrible hollowness to it, almost an echo that makes it excruciatingly difficult to listen to. It Is well read, and the narrator even has a nice speaking voice, it is the Quality if the recording that is horrible.
The information contained in this book is very interesting so I do think the book is worth the money, had the book been any less interesting or less informative I would have given up due to the poor quality of the audio recording itself. Possibly it would be better to purchase this book as a paperback or hardback copy?
