Covers all FCC Technician Class Exam questions July 1, 2014, until June 30, 2018
Everything you need to know to become a licensed ham and get on the air.
Memorizing answers is hard. Learning is easy! The Fast Track to Your Technician Ham Radio License explains the reasoning and technology behind each correct answer on the amateur radio exam so you'll understand and remember the subject matter. Created by an experienced ham and adult educator, it's like having your own patient, experienced, good-humored mentor for the exam.
Technician is the entry-level ham radio license that lets you operate on all ham channels from 30 MHz up, which includes the very popular VHF and UHF bands. To get your license you must pass a multiple-choice test.
The technician license test consists of 35 questions drawn from a pool of about 350. Memorizing the answers to 350 questions is difficult, but The Fast Track makes it easier by explaining the reasoning and technology behind each correct answer. It's simple: When you understand the material, you remember the answers and pass the test.
Best of all, once you've passed your exam you'll have a solid grounding in ham radio basics.

Using this audio book, and maybe 1 hour of reviewing the Schematic Diagrams and some math practice questions, I was obtaining 33 out of 35 scores on practice exams. (well above passing at 26)
I actually didn't think I was learning all that much while going through the audiobook, but when it came time to take the exams, the answers literally popped out at me, because Michael Burnette did an excellent job at mentioning the keywords you need to remember.
And I feel for a 7-hour audiobook, Michael really dove into topics as deep as he could without requiring the time and patience of a college diploma.
If you listen for an hour per day, you can pass the Technician Exam in a week.
Superbly well done! I finished the book in a week during my commutes and passed the test with no problem! Never even opened the official textbook.
The radio. Duh!
Highly recommended for anyone serious about passing the exam.
This audiobook is very well done! Excellent narration, great content and very entertaining. I just passed my Technician's exam using nothing but this audiobook and the practice exams on the ARRL website. I especially like that the author explains the correct answers so you're not just memorizing.
Hoping Mr. Burnette does finish a General Class study guide next.
Enough information to help new people, but not enough to bog down your brain. Helped me to grasp some answers I wouldn't have know just from the arrl book.
A great audio for learning the Technician Class Radio License. If you are an auditory learner I highly recommend this audio book!
this book provides good information for taking the technicians level test. you may need the text in order to fully study for your test
"Well explained and excellent narration."
I'm studying for my UK amateur licence but managed to pick up a lot of info from this as it's of course universal principles, if not the same legal rules.
I found the narrator kept my attention well and I've enjoyed listening to this in the car and whilst I work. I would love some extra follow up books on the other levels or concentrating on specific areas such as antenna design or radio theory.
