After having a relationship with someone with BPD, it really made everything make sense.
I never even knew what really was until this book, which really had me saying "yes, that's it exactly" over and over. It helped clear up so many issues that were still standing out in my memory and make sense of it all.
So much information!
It was mainly a self help book
Learning I was not alone.
I recommend it for family, patients, anyone wanting to know more about BPD. It's a horrible disease and I as a patient, also living with someone with BPD and had a mother withBPD. It was very informative. VERY INFORMATIVE
After the first read, I was able to identify traits of BP. After the second read, I began understanding why BPs are as they are. The appendix is awesome in its self. I plan on reading this book again. It seems that I learn many new topics with each read.

It is very captivating to have your experiences validated and be given skills to limit those experiences.
Driving is not the time to be staring at your audio player saying 'that is so true'.
3 months latter I'm still as excited as when I first listened to this Audio-Book.
If you are new to this book Part 1 will Captivate you (as it did me a few years ago).
If you've read the 1st Edition, Part 2 will bowl you over.
A few times in your life you read a book that's like an epiphany. This is one of them.
(Part 1 of the 1st Ed also did this to me)
Part 2 Lean the skills to live your life. Boundaries aren't just for BPD's but relevant when dealing with any difficult person.
Part 2 of this 2d Edition is so relevant to everyday life, not just dealing with BPD sufferers. If you read the First Edition, you are in for a treat. So much more information and it's so relevant to today, tomorrow and the future.
I purchased it to brush up & found Part 2 of the second Edition so good I bought paper backs for some friends. A must read (listen).

When I realized in the middle of the 1st chapter that I have a few close family members possibly with BPD.

Helped me understand someone I love, and how my reactions can help or make things worse. I want to hear more about DBT, what i am told is the best treatment for BPD.

Amazing, Needed, Healing
The fact that I know there are other people who have felt what I am feeling and who have found a way to have a relationship with someone with BPD without losing themselves in the process.
She definitely helps to set a tone that isn't always serious. When dealing with difficult personalities, you must have a sense of humor and this book definitely made me laugh out loud more than once.
Whenever the author discussed that how a BPD loved one acts is not your fault. That you are not a bad person and are not the cause of their pain and anguish. I broke down and cried because I needed to hear that.
I got more out of listening to this book the second time. The first time I was just thinking of situations I had been through that were similar but the second time I absord a lot more of the advice and listened slowly.
This book had great information on how to deal with someone that is in your life that is or has the behaviors of Borderline Personality Disorder. Gave good examples of the dynamic that occurs in such relationships as well as ways to approach each issue.
