I love urban fantasy, paranormal romance, YA, and dystopian. My favorite authors are Ilona Andrews and Kim Harrison.
It was ok, but the bipolar person in my life is a parent, not a lover. I felt very let down. Narrator is fine. Ehh!
There are so many references that are priceless throughout the whole book in various chapters. I found a lot of these resources to be incredibly useful in my personal situation. The author has thoroughly explained BiPolar disorder through her book for anyone, whether they have someone who struggles with bipolar or not, to understand what it is and what to do about it. I would recommend this book to anyone who has or anyone who knows someone else who struggles with bipolar disorder.
Seriously, the narrator reads out every referenced website and resource phone number including TYY phone numbers! Hoe many deaf people do you know who listen to audiobooks?
This is just one example of my problems with the narration. As for the content, it's s mixed bag. It has some helpful points but also seems to spend a lot of time explaining things that are common sense.
This book reminded me of a *very* long PowerPoint presentation, each slide full of bulleted facts. I was hoping for a more informal, more anecdotal introduction to what it is like to have bipolar disorder or to know someone with the illness. Somewhere in all the facts were probably several valuable for someone coping with BD in real life, but if you get this book, be prepared to be overwhelmed with information.
