No characters were in this book as it is non-fiction, but i can say that Chronic fatigue is the villain. I know second hand what this disease is as my daughter has it. At 26 she sometimes cannot get out of bed in the morning. She spent thousands of dollars on a culinary degree and may not be able to work. This book may help her to defeat that villain at least enough to make a living.
Joshua Mackey always does a great job narrating books. I especially enjoy how he holds your attention just with his voice and makes anything sound interesting.
There came a time in the book when I realized that there is a chance that my daughter will be able to function somewhat normally; that there are methods that can knock down chronic fatigue and give a person a chance at a normal life. I especially appreciated the chapters on how to change your thinking and spirituality in order to deal with this disease. It seems most doctors throw their hands up in the air when it comes to chronic fatigue, but those chapters in particular showed me that there is hope.

Instead of going straight into how to combat fatigue and low energy levels, the author begins by explaining why we feel tired and the many possible causes for this. The explaination helps a listener to understand why the are feeling fatigued, which then in turn helps them to overcome it.
The different steps for overcoming fatigue are extremely helpful, from changing your lifestyle to improving your diet. I have now learnt that drinking coffee or red bull is not the best for my energy levels, as although it gives you a boost, this is then followed by a crash. Since finishing this book I have been trying out the techniques mentioned and after just a few days, I am beginning to feel my energy levels rising and my motivation is improving, I am now on my way to living life to the fullest.

I have been using these two books together to manage my pain and fatigue for the last few weeks and the results have been utterly amazing! Please, please, please listen to the tips and secrets in these two audiobooks if you are constantly tired and hurting. They have changed my life!
"CFS. Understanding and Remedying."
I enjoy the audio version more because I find it easy to get into a zone, listen and absorb what is being said while moving arround. I feel as though I being given a master class in dealing with CFS and also in general health and well being.
There are no characters and although I found all sections of the book motivating and relevant, I was most interested in the spiritual side. There were techniques that I have never come across before but I found I wanted to delve a lot deeper after listening to the audio.
A positivity and enthusiasm for the subject. He is clear and articulate and very engaging.
I did listen to it in one sitting both on the first occasion and again on the second.

Yes, I would recommend this book to someone dealing with fatigue as it covers so many areas and I found it to be very helpful and eye-opening.
What I liked best was that the author gives many examples of things that can help with fatigue. The way he breaks down chronic fatigue and the reasons for it is impressive, as is his suggestions for dealing with it.
He also does a great job of helping with everyday fatigue as he goes into detail about how making changes to diet, supplements and even spiritually can have an impact.
I thought that the narrator was excellent and engaging throughout. He did a great job of emphasizing points that needed emphasis.
Highly recommended for anyone who has issues with fatigue or feels sluggish in life. This book was a really good listen and one that provided me with some very interesting and exciting ideas for how I can make changes to my life to deal with fatigue.

I have been feeling ongoing fatigue for some time now, which I just put down to working all hours and not always getting enough sleep. I was so pleased to come across this audio book as I really like this author/narrator combination, and I wondered if it might give me anyhelp in finding renewed energy. I wasn't disappointed, as the narrator took me through a comprehensive range of things that might contribute to fatigue (many of which i hadn't already identified) and then on to looking at ways to combat fatigue. These essentially covered the broadest spectrum of life and offered so many practical suggestions to improve your quality of life when you are fatigued, as well as how to progress back to full energy levels.
This book is enthusiastically written and narrated, and would be helpful to anyone who feels under par in terms of energy - but especially those suffering from acute or chronic fatigue.
I feel empowered and hopeful that I can change aspects of my life to reduce the fatigue even though I can't change some aspects (like work).

My mum suffers with chronic fatigue and I have been worries recently that I have developed it as well as I have struggled with fatigue a lot over the last year. This audio book helped me to discern that my fatigue is temporary and due to my work load and circumstances however whatever the cause of your fatigue and whether it is temporary or due to CFS I found it surprising the amount of treatments there are that can ease the effects of fatigue. Due to my mum’s condition I am very familiar with a number of natural supplements can help, but even I picked up some tips that I am definitely going to try.

"worst book on CFS EVER!!!!!!"
I have had ME...usually called CFS in the US...for 20yrs and it is a serious condition. "always make it your goal to stay in a healthy condition" is one of his mundane comments. He has looked up CFS and makes a load of VERY OBVIOUS and well known points about the illness. Diet, CBT, hypnotherapy, massage.....avoid processed foods!!!apparently ginseng is awesome!! A more comfortabe bed may be a wise investment ZZZZZZZZZZZZ I can't believe how inane this advice is for anyone who has ME. What a load of utterly boring recommendations that anyone who knows even a tiny bit about ME/CFS would already know. Absolutely nothing new here and a bloody insult to anyone with the plague. His upbeat voice makes me want to throw an egg at him. IF YOU HAVE ME/CFS avoid this book at all costs. you won't learn anything and will just put money in his pocket. He also makes sure we know about his website too!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
