Publisher's summary

Xenocide is the third installment of the Ender series. On Lusitania, Ender found a world where humans and pequeninos and the Hive Queen could all live together; where three very different intelligent species could find common ground at last. Or so he thought. But Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus which kills all humans it infects, but which the pequeninos require in order to transform into adults. The Starways Congress so fears the effect of the descolada, should it escape from Lusitania, that they have ordered the destruction of the entire planet and all who live there. The Fleet is on its way and a second Xenocide seems inevitable, until the Fleet vanishes.

Don't listen to bad reviews.

Yes the narrators distract from the story but the story is not harmed.
Should you listen? Only if you like speaker more than enders game. If you want battle and physical conflict divert to the shadow saga. If you enjoy the philosophical nature of speaker then keep going. This is the setup to the final book. Yes it's slower paced but there is so much needed to be set into motion before children of the mind can happen.
Thought provoking and intelligent. Not a tasty low brow action packed treat but a full meal that needs to be enjoyed slowly.

Absolutely awe inspiring!!!

The Enderverse will transport you to a future where anything is possible if you know where the doorway is. It's blend of Sci-Fi, Philosophy, Religion and Moral Rightness will irresistibly pull you into the story and make you listen for hours on the edge of your seat. #SaveJane!

Levels on levels

This is a wonderfully complex tale following on the previous two in the series. It makes sense that this is the first half of the final installment - some bits hanging. Interesting layering of story, thought experiments and questioning of assumptions. Treatment with multiple voices takes a bit getting used to but works well in the end. Truly excellent story.

Please stop white people using “Asian” accents

Unnecessary, distracting, not even semi-accurate. I just don’t understand how someone thought this was a good idea.

loved it, hated how honest and truthful it depicted human nature. it's never easy to be fully honest and self reflect. looking forward to the next book.

Very Long Third Edition to the Enderverse

While I was thrilled to listen to the continuation of the series, the book was rather lengthy and took some "getting into." I'm also mildly scarred by the attempts at Chinese accents.

Good Story

I enjoyed the book, although it isn't as solid as the previous two. There are certain portions of the book, when the characters are being 'philosophical', when I found the writing to be a bit self-congratulatory (I'm not sure that is the right phrase). That was a small issue for me though, and overall I liked the book. The performances were also good, I was not as thrown off by the accents as some others seemed to be.
