Should have read sooner!

I have had this book to read for a long time. I had heard good things but never got around to reading it. I decided to use an Audible credit and listen during my morning commute. i am hooked. I enjoyed this take on shifters. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series.

The kind of story I have searched the world for!

I have looked for many years for a story that I never wanted to end. It was hard to do anything but want to listen and find out what may happen! Even with no love scenes I found that this story was more of a romance then most romance novels. I felt the whole story was very original and breathtaking! I am so excited that this is a part of a series so I can continue to enjoy this world I have come to love and wish I was apart of! I had never read anything by this author before but I plan on making it my mission to read everything she has written! Take a chance on this book and I promise you won’t be sorry! Best book I have read in a very long time!!! Thank you

Fantastic book

I have read a lot of books and this has to be one of my all-time favorites. The story was well written with fresh material. The characters were interesting and I couldn't wait to see what they'd do next. I couldn't put the book down until the end! The narrator also did a great job.

Howling Good Reads!!

What did you like best about this story?

The completely different take on "paranormal fiction"! I have read and listened to a ton of books in this genre and nothing compares to Anne Bishop's The Others! I have already listened to book #2 and am waiting (not so) patiently for book #3!

What about Alexandra Harris’s performance did you like?

EVERYTHING!! You can tell every character and you can really believe that is exactly how they would sound! A narrator can make or break a book and believe me she nailed it on this one!! I hope they keep her for book #3!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!! It was too long for me to do that though! I was listening to it every second I could!

Any additional comments?

Once you get used to the strange names of people and places sit back and enjoy the ride! This is not your average wolf/vamp novel and it is SOOOO much more. Anne Bishop introduces you to characters I have never thought of before and that was absolutely part of what sucked me in! Don't miss this one! I promise you will be buying book #2!!

Nice storyline and very good flow

Would you listen to Written in Red again? Why?

Yes, I just want to immerse myself in the Thasia continent and imagine myself to be a earth native or a human there. Would love to hear it again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Written in Red?

When Meg placed Sam into Arabus' hands for safety. It was gripping! Had to replay that back a few times as I imagined how it would be.

Would love a bit of music on the background not too over powering but just like the ending just some music would make it wonderful.

Bad choice of music

I would have given it 5 stars if the last few minutes of the story hadn’t been drowned out by loud and irritating music.

book 1 should have stopped here

Great first book with a fair end all other are not as well written and way shorter so felt cheated. just finished to the bone

I hate Vampire Books

I wish there were ways to exclude vampires from my reading list. This was not quite a vampire book but working up to it. So while the book was enjoyable, I'll not be reading the sequals. #Vampires #Blood Fantasy #Tagsgiving #Sweepstakes

Fully realized characters, well plotted, pulse pounding action, and a quirky sense of humor. What's not to love?!
