Great listen

I know nothing about WOW but this was recommended to me.

I had almost no problem figuring out what was going on, though I did all my friend a few questions about the backstory.

The plot was interesting and the narrator did an excellent job. Once I finished I've been trying to figure out what happens after the events in my book and wanting to know more about the WOW lore.

She did good female voices

The story was great, her voice is beautiful. Her female voicing is so utterly perfect but her male voicing is so cringe I could hardly stand it. I understand its harder to do male voices as a high pitched female... I would have rather she tried less to make them deeper and just made her voice gruffer instead. Anduin was really great since he was young and the voice was fine higher pitched. In the future I'd suggest this voice actor pair up with another to handle the male voices.

Fan of the Series Will Enjoy

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd recommend this to a person who has played the game otherwise it might be a little to focused on WoW to be a enjoyable fantasy book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of World of Warcraft: Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War?

The battle scenes are well described and exciting with the narrating actor's influence.

Have you listened to any of Justine Eyre’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, but I'd like to after this one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did find myself looking for excuses to listen more.

Any additional comments?

WoW fans will love it.

Incredible story and storytelling

As a player of wow for 12 years I have a listening advantage in understanding the imagery and characters automatically. This left me basking in the fantastically woven story and taking in the complex themes- this is not just a "video game book". Treachery, honor, love, hatred, fear, loss, temptation, fatherhood, national pride- many richly tired together concepts (there are even issues of terrorism and a country's reaction to it that come up). For a fantasy fiction I found the read very relevant.

An Amazing Tale in the Warcraft Chronicles

This was a tremendously well written story, and the voice actress did an exceptional job. Her male tones were as good as they could be, but her female voices we're impeccable! It is a must listen for fans of the lore.

Golden kills it once again

Christie golden is definitely one of,if not my favorite author. As usual she conveys the lore so well. Nothing I can really say other than, she is the definitive master of writing world of Warcraft books. The voice actress was okay. Eyre was great when reading Jaina and company, but anytime she did a male voice, it sounded like she was slurring or going to be sick. This was especially noticeable when listening to the horde bits. I couldn’t tell if it was baine, Garrosh, Varian or any other supporting male character who was talking. Other than that, it was a job well done.

voice acting was good most of the time,

but sometimes Garrosh sounded Irish for some reason. and Vol'jin was a mix between Jamacan and Indian

Amazing story! Narrator does her best

Would you consider the audio edition of World of Warcraft: Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War to be better than the print version?

No, sorry but this is purely personal opinion on most books. there's just something about print.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Baine or Kalec. both are very strong, yet wise and restrained.

What about Justine Eyre’s performance did you like?

Her ability to express emotion in her voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes but i will not give away spoilers.

Any additional comments?

Please be prepared for weak orc voices. She is a female narrator after all, and that works well for most parts, especially Jaina. The orc voices are not terrible but they obviously should be deeper, She puts forth a very strong effort.
