Publisher's summary

Our favorite white trash zombie, Angel Crawford, has enough problems of her own, what with dealing with her alcoholic, deadbeat dad, issues with her not-quite boyfriend, the zombie mafia, industrial espionage, and evil corporations. Oh, and it’s raining, and won’t let up.

But things get even crazier when a zombie movie starts filming in town, and Angel begins to suspect that it’s not just the plot of the movie that's rotten. Soon she's fighting her way through mud, blood, bullets, and intrigue, even as zombies, both real and fake, prowl the streets.

Angel’s been through more than her share of crap, but this time she's in way over her head. She’ll need plenty of brainpower to fit all the pieces - and body parts - together in order to save herself, her town, and quite possibly the human race.

Pretty good installment in series

I thought it was good, but not as good as the last book. The only thing that bothered me was that the narrator was congested for half of the book. Could t they wait for her to get over her cold to finish the book? Other than that she does a great job.

great series

What made the experience of listening to White Trash Zombie Apocalypse the most enjoyable?

the story is totally unique. Like the movie Zombieland The white trash zombie series provides a rare bit of comic relief in an over saturated genre.

What other book might you compare White Trash Zombie Apocalypse to and why?

its a stand alone work of art. I wish I knew of comparable books

Have you listened to any of Allison McLemore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no but I will definitely seek them out. One of the best performances i have heard

Any additional comments?

no matter what you think of the zombie genre, listen to this book for its creativity, humor and above all outstanding performance

Zombie Chaos

What made the experience of listening to White Trash Zombie Apocalypse the most enjoyable?

Angel is becoming more assertive and has taken charge of herself. She is growing into a leader and is more confident in herself than ever. She has learned to not take crap from anyone that wants to hold her back. Her drive for independence is tangible.

Which scene was your favorite?

I really liked the scene where Angel confronts Heather and then she takes action and puts herself at risk to keep her from being recaptured or killed.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would love to just sit and listen to this book all at once. Unfortunately, I have to work, so it takes a couple days for almost every book I read. I am in awe at how much I actually like this series. I can't believe I had the first book over a year before reading.

Any additional comments?

This addition to the series is full of chaos… in a good way. I was apprehensive when I read that a zombie movie was going to be filming. A zombie movie being filmed in a town where the zombies have enough problems could have gone really badly for a story line. I was pleasantly surprised. Rowland used solid creativity and just used it as a building block for a great story.

This book had some twists that I didn’t see coming. They were solid and well thought out. I was not disappointed and remained eager to continue through the story. I like the addition of new characters. Some of the original characters were not as present in this book but their occasional appearance did not seem forced.

There are other directions that I am hoping this series will take but with this being a strong 3rd book in the series, I don’t think I will be disappointed with any direction Diana Rowland leads Angel down.

Story was great

I enjoyed the story and the characters for the most part. However, the narrators cold though out the middle of the book was incredibly distracting. I struggled to finish. I think she gets better around chapter 16-17. She is a fantastic narrator- let her have some sick days.

Great, but did the talent record with a head cold?

I really enjoy this series, and the voice acting is really good, but a substantial portion of this book (maybe a few hours) sounded like the voice actor had a head cold. At first I thought it was just one character, an intentional choice to give them a nasal voice (and it may have been only one character at first) but after a while they all sounded that way. It drove me nuts and really broke immersion until it stopped.

4.5 stars really!

Once again Angel is back and it seems that as she keeps trying to get further ahead in her new chance at life, be it zombified or whatever, things keep conspiring to push her back and cause her problems. I can’t promise no spoilers if you haven’t read the first two yet, so be cautious as you read on!

The Big Bad in this one is kind of new, but as with the last book, we have some of the bad guys who show up once again. And once again there may be some possible switching of sides, which we may not know about. First Angel almost gets hit by a truck at the local high school where they’re filming a zombie movie. She’s saved by the zombie she was forced to make in the last book, Phillip. So it seems like maybe he’s not a bad guy? But that opinion doesn’t last long when he is part of some other events that make him out to be still an enemy.

The doctor that was so evil in the last book is also back, maybe working for the bad guys this time. Angel is still having to deal with her boyfriend/zombie daddy Marcus’s often overbearing overprotectiveness, as well as his condescension at times. Her father is also a wild card, she can’t quite tell if he’s really working on not getting drunk all the time, and his attitude at times doesn’t make it seem he is. Fortunately Marcus’s uncle Pietro seems to be more someone that Angel can count on.

And it’s not only the bad guys she knows, but a new family and maybe a spy, as well as mother nature taking a swipe at Angel’s life as well. I enjoyed this one for sure, and am looking forward to seeing just what happens in the next book between the latest villains and how the people closest to Angel say they are working on things, and if they’ll actually do that.

Absolutely loved it!

Would you consider the audio edition of White Trash Zombie Apocalypse to be better than the print version?
Yes, the audio edition is better than the print version. I love audiobooks. There is so much you can get done while listening to an audiobook unlike a regular book that you have to have time to sit down and read. The only thing that can ruin an audiobook is the voice and/or performance ability of the person reading the book. I like Allison McLemore, she does a very good job.

What did you like best about this story?
It's hilarious, gross, and good fun. There were parts of this book were I literally laughed out loud; got some funny looks let me tell you. Plenty of action, intrigue, and personal drama for those that like those aspects as well.

What about Allison McLemore’s performance did you like?
Allison McLemore has an enjoyable voice to listen to and does a decent job of distinguishing between different characters by making her voice sound different when each character is speaking. Those are two important skills that unfortunately not all audiobook performers have though you would think they would be the first thing you look for before hiring someone for that job. I have bought audiobooks in the past that I absolutely could not stand to listen to because the persons voice was just so annoying or I couldn't tell which character was speaking because they all sounded the same. My point is, that is not the case when Allison McLemore is narrating an audiobook. She's very good at her job.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The movie extras aren't the only Zombies wondering the streets.

Any additional comments?
Hope this is not the end of the series and there will be many more books to enjoy.
