Our favorite white trash zombie, Angel Crawford, has enough problems of her own, what with dealing with her alcoholic, deadbeat dad, issues with her not-quite boyfriend, the zombie mafia, industrial espionage, and evil corporations. Oh, and it’s raining, and won’t let up.
But things get even crazier when a zombie movie starts filming in town, and Angel begins to suspect that it’s not just the plot of the movie that's rotten. Soon she's fighting her way through mud, blood, bullets, and intrigue, even as zombies, both real and fake, prowl the streets.
Angel’s been through more than her share of crap, but this time she's in way over her head. She’ll need plenty of brainpower to fit all the pieces - and body parts - together in order to save herself, her town, and quite possibly the human race.

(language amended for Amazon review)After my whining involving the second book in the series, from the first chapter of WTZA (White Trash Zombie Apocalypse) I knew we were back to the good ole days. Angel is studying hard for her GED and debating what she wants to do in the decades to come. She's going on dates and arguing with her dad. Oh and don't forget the autopsies. However, Angel still has booties to kick because the zombie research isn't over. With the perfect balance of "real life," mystery, and action WTZA is a definite winner in my book!
The narration in this one is actually why I knocked off a half a star. It is still excellent, don't get me wrong, but McLemore seems to tone down Angel's Louisiana accent. Especially in the dialogue. I miss the southern and trashy twang! Still, Allison McLemore is Angel for me, and she does a wonderful job once again bringing her to life.
Overall, I enjoyed this book thoroughly. My issues regarding book two over the 180 in plot are seamlessly fixed, and readers are given a great balance of Angel's everyday life and the trouble she gets into. I was always looking for times to listen and never bored with the story. I am very excited for book 4, HOW THE WHITE TRASH ZOMBIE GOT HER GROOVE BACK (these titles are a mouthful aren't they?!), coming out next week July 1, 2014. More of Angel kicking butt and eating brains!

Where does White Trash Zombie Apocalypse rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The series it's self ranks in the top 20. It really has the teeth and relate-ability to be a long standing fantasy series.Who was your favorite character and why?
Angel of course. The main character really comes into herself when she becomes a zombie. What about Allison McLemore’s performance did you like?
She has a feat accent but I could tell she had a cold when reading this book, compared to the previous two in the series.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laugh a lot at Angels dirty mouth. It wakes me up during my morning commute.Any additional comments?
I'm more of a vampire gal so I didn't think I'd be into zombie books. I really like this series, I think it being written from a woman's point of view by a woman makes it relate-able. There's also the crime scene aspect written into it to which makes it more interesting.I Really Hope There Are More Books

What made the experience of listening to White Trash Zombie Apocalypse the most enjoyable?
The story is fantastic and I loved the way Angel's character has grown and matured throughout the books. She's doing so well for herself and you can't help but root for the girl. The narrator was great. I admit, she wasn't what I thought Angel would sound initially, but as the story went on, it grew on me.What other book might you compare White Trash Zombie Apocalypse to and why?
I'm terrible at comparing books, so I'm not going to. Maybe a little Sookie Stackhouse (but mostly because the whole Louisiana thing). What about Allison McLemore’s performance did you like?
Great delivery of lines and pace.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
