    "Interesting concept, well developed"

I will admit that I like Chalker's writing and have for a long time. I read, and re-read his books and am rarely bored. This is the first in a series of what happens when, "things change". Things you should have recognized and controlled but didn't, and things that change that are out of your control. It's an excellent series dealing with growth, development, realization of both; who are the bad guys, and who are the good guys who are doing bad things. Really makes you think about the way you're living your life, while entertaining you.

"Challenging Story for a vocal artist."
Would you listen to When the Changewinds Blow again? Why?

Perhaps, I had read the saga many years ago, and remembered a great deal still. So listening to it being read by Cassandra Morris gave it a new dimension. One that will stay with me for some time yet I think.

What other book might you compare When the Changewinds Blow to and why?

The Changewind Saga is a story that is retold in different ways by Chalker. If you read River of the Dancing Gods or even the God Inc Series or more closely yet, the Soul Rider Series, you'll find a number of common themes that will present. As I love the characters that Mr Chalker creates, it's easy to accept some of these repeating features. But it's how the story is told that really gives his books a treat.

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite is when Charlie gets her guns and saves what's left of the wagon train. The scene of her traipsing through the desert was priceless.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

A few parts made me laugh and some made me cry. But that was long ago, when I had read it, hearing it told doesn't give me the same connection with the characters I had when I read it originally.

    Any additional comments?

Cassandra has to work hard to give distinct character to each of the pivotal characters presented in the book. Some are easy, others need to have nuance. And she does this with such skill it's easy, to know who just entered the room and spoke, before the name is given. Because there is such strong moments of emotion in the book, it's hard to keep the emotion genuine if you are not very careful and skilled. But such things are handled very well and I am very greatful to have heard this story again through the use of Audible.I mostly use these books to keep me company on the drive home from work or to a distant destination. And this is one of the great values of audible.

    Story
    "Book content not clearly identified"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who is more interested in sexual fantasy.

What was most disappointing about Jack L. Chalker’s story?

I would like to know when a book is going to have homosexual relations and lots of sexual fantasies, as I would pass on that book. I understand some people enjoy that in their reading so there is a need for such literature. But as I don't care for such I would like to know if that is the content so I can avoid it.
