Publisher's summary

Prince Roger is coming home, but home isn't what it was when he left. Traitors have murdered his brother and sister, his nieces and nephews. His mother, the empress, is still alive but in the hands of Roger's own biological father, who controls her through drugs and physical and psychological torture. A new heir to the throne has been conceived, and once the child is born his mother will no longer be necessary to the traitors' plans. Prince Roger must somehow retake the empire from the men who control it before his new brother is born and his mother dies. It's an impossible task, but Prince Roger knows all about impossible tasks.

Powerful

Great continuing story, still not done though. I hope to see more in the future. Thanks

Expected ending with Twists along the way

A good, although well anticipated wrap to the Prince Roger series. Still worth the read. I recommend you keep a scorecard of the admirals, ship captains, and ship names to keep up with the battle at the end. (Oops, did I give something away?)

David Weber AND John Ringo

Military Sci-Fi doesn't get much better. I have enjoyed the entire series although this is the first audio installment I have purchased. The storyline is great, but you'd probably do better to have read at least one of the previous books to enjoy this one.

The narration is excellent with fairly minor nuances in tone and pitch for the different characters.

I sure hope this isn't the last in this series. More Roger!

love the series and wish there was more.

the Prince Rodger series is in my top 5 favorite series. I have never been a huge fan of David Weber or john ringo but put them together and they are epic. then throw in Stefan Rudnicki as the narrator on top of that who could read the phone book and make it sound great and you get pure gold. love the series and wish there was another book to the series.

I dont know what happened to this one!

I have to say, this last book started well and ended with a flop for me. I really think the ending is disappointing and lacking. Personal opinion obviously, but i was hoping for more at the end of this saga.

the best

no story is perfect. but after such a damned Long March it was a beautiful conclusion. I listen to this book about once a year. and I Cry every single time without fail. what greater story is there then the youth who becomes grown and takes the mantle of their ancestors successes and their failures.

Love this series.

Read the entire series about 5 years ago. Was glad to find it on Amazon.

Great character depth and storyline. Was very interesting to mix modern warfare techniques with the siege type battles of yester-Year

great listen!

This is one of my favorite series, and Mr Rudnicki did an amazing job reading it, even getting the singing parts done very well (I cried during 'Danny Boy'). Highly recommended, it's going into my regular rotation.
