Publisher's Summary

HE SURVIVED THE SCOURGE. HE ESCAPED THE CARTEL. NOW HE FACES THE WALL.

In the chaos of a global plague, evil took hold. Governments fell, the good became servants, and the Cartel rose to power. A wall was built to contain the wasteland and keep the evil at bay. Now an organized resistance wants change. They're willing to fight for it and they've asked Marcus Battle to help. The last thing Battle wants is another war. But if that's what it takes to gain freedom and safe passage to the other side of the wall, he'll take aim and fire.

All three books kept me interested and engaged. I especially enjoyed the western setting. I wish there was a 4th.

    "A Battle Is Coming..."

A battle is coming, well make that two battles. One actual battle between the two sides and Marcus Battle, the incredibly resilient good guy in the Traveler Series.

The narration for Wall was done by Kevin Pierce who has done the entire Traveler series and done an awesome job on them. As I've stated time and time again, Pierce just has one of those voices that really makes these post-apocalyptic stories. It's no wonder he's been featured over and over again on my blog considering that's one my favorite genres.

The story picks up where the other two have left off, so I may give some spoilers away. Battle is still alive and kicking and is now called upon to help more people once again. I really like the inner angst that Abrahams plays off of. Battle is a mess internally. He's fighting a lot of demons that would cause a lesser man to crumble. I think that it's written beautifully -- allowing Battle to have his moments, but also recover from them and grow because of them.

The combination of Abrahams writing style and Pierce's narration really made this book blow by. It felt like one moment I was just starting chapter 1 and the next the book was almost over. Not every book can do that, but this one definitely made the time evaporate.

Overall, the story was a little different from the first two Traveler books but was different in a needed way. This book had a lot of conclusions and endings to things. Without giving anything away, I will say that I was happy and a bit surprised by the ending.

I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

    "Great mini series"

It wa a great mini series. The characters were believable and the story was also. The only thing I sighed didn't like the ending. It ended abruptly.

Insatiable listener. I'm drawn to the dystopic and post-apocalyptic (including zombies) fiction, American and ancient history nonfiction.

"One of the best listens in a long while."

It had a Western flavor. Very realistic characters. Narrator has an easy pace, though his voices aren't the most diverse.

"Battle through to the second half"
Would you listen to Wall: A Post Apocalyptic/Dystopian Adventure again? Why?

I may, just to see if it is easier to follow the second time.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would have gotten the story moving faster from the beginning instead of waiting until the second half of the book to have any real excitement.

What does Kevin Pierce bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    He is phenomenal as always.

    Any additional comments?

Abrahams had 3 stories going on at once. On top of that, some of the characters had unusual names which made it hard to keep up and the storylines were hard to follow. In the last half of the book, the story was still weird but his writing was easier to follow. At onIt is worth reading just push through the first half of the book and you will likely enjoy the second half. Kudos for having a book that is 7+ hours. The books I have found lately are 3-4 hours and not worth it.

    "Good End to the Series"

If you read the other two books, then you will be vested enough to want to follow through on the end of the trilogy. While not supplying any spoilers, I thought the ending was a very fitting way to bring the series to completion.

That was the best part. However to get there, you have to muddle through a through tangential stories that come to unsatisfactory ends. Now don't get me wrong, the bones of the story, the building blocks, were as amazing as the original story. However, the story lines within those blocks seem hurried and not completely thought through.

The narration is spot on, continuing the story that originated the series.

    Long live Marcus Battle
