One of the unquestioned masters of military science fiction, New York Times best-selling author John Ringo teams with real-life rocket scientist Travis S. Taylor for this action-packed sequel to Into the Looking Glass. The alien Dreen are still a terrifying menace across the galaxy, but Earth has a new weapon - the first human warp ship. Aboard the Vorpal Blade, America's tough-as-nails Force Recon Marines seek the Dreen, hoping to bring the fight directly to them.

"... deals with the arcane mysteries of quantum mechanics, lending ... an absurdist twist appropriately reminiscent of Lewis Carroll." - Publishers Weekly

Alas.

He constantly mispronounced Submariner, COB, and other terms.
Huge pauses not only at book chapters, but in the story line also.
Some areas of performance was disjointed, tech issues or him is uncertain.

Classic Ringo, humorus, but at times frustrating

The frustrating part is the replacement of the F word with Guck and Muck. Yes its a bad word, but these are US MARINES and it is the way the actual book says it. Stop with the silly language change. The narrator is great, but if it was a change made by him for personal reasons, then I'm sorry, but find another narrator that will read the book the way it was written!

first book was great but this was a dumpster fire.

John Ringo books are really a hit or miss. for the most part he can keep his right leaning views under check but in this one, he just lets them all hang out. according to him 90% of the military, politicians and hard science community are white Southerners. I only made it through half of this book before it just became too much. on top of that this book is slow paced with the boring crew flying around doing almost absolutely nothing. hard pass on this one.

Vorpal Blade: Looking Glass Series, Book 2

The most boring Sci Fi book on tape. This is the only one that just could not finish. But, the narrator was good.

Save your credit

I should have read "Dave's" review. The replacement of the cuss words 70 or 80 times gets very old fast. This book is abridged!

Bad fake words

Book 1 was great. Here on book 2, the made up ,childish fake cuss words completely ruined it for me. And they are used A LOT. Kills the story, makes it unrealistic and completely destroys the kind of persona John Ringo was giving the characters. I doubt these fake cuss words are in the actual book. This was a bad enough issue that I will have to make sure the next audiobooks in the series don't have it. If they do, I won't be listening to the remaining books. Yes, that awful. Would have to pick the actual books and read. It's criminal to destroy the author's work like this.

Garbage....an entire novel of nothing.

14+ hours where the characters do absolutely nothing. Absolutely no plot. WTH was Ringo thinking?

Not written for SciFi fans

This book was very difficult to sit through. From the absolute lack of understanding of physics, to the completely lackluster encounters with alien beings (especially a particularly drawn-out yawn inducer with a giant 'crab-pus'), I have to advise that anyone expecting a solid sci-fi experience look elsewhere.
