upper middle portion, would have been higher with a better narrator, but the story made up for many of the narrators issues
Monster Hunter International
Most of the time, but the narrator felt rushed at times, and he could have paused a moment when transitioning scenes
It made me laugh, especially some of the action movie like one liners
Having read the ebook I was able to really enjoy the audiobook, but the narrators different character voices were some times grating and the his rushed scene transitions get a little annoying but not enough to spoil the experience. I will be listening to this audiobook again in the future.
couldnt get through 1 hour of this book let alone the whole book. He is constantly referring to his wife as his bride and the narrators voice is annoying
I've not yet read the text version but they are what I usually prefer and intend to pick up a text copy at some point.
I was getting a good chuckle out of the Sarah Palin incident. Any scene featuring Uncle Musket was awesome, especially any time he was talking about the bar maids.
There were parts where the narrator annoyed me. This book was written in such a way that a specific audience (shooters) would connect with it. Many times through out the book it was apparent that the narrator had no idea about what he was reading. This is the ONLY thing about the book I didn't like.
You'll love the smell of MOAB'd zombies in the morning.
Not a literary work of art, but it is a fun story non-the-less.
Uprising USA takes the traditional shambler-type zombie/zombie plague story and runs with it, adding in a few unique twists that set it apart from everything else. It kept me coming back, wanting to hear just a little bit more, and at points it had chuckling out loud due to the humorous nature of some of the characters or incidents in the book.
If you're looking for a fun time and some gun candy, try this one.
I only made through about an hour but...
- The narrator isn't consistent, he keeps changing George (the main characters) voice, and can't keep a consistent speed
- It sounds like it was recorded in a basement.
- The narrator sounds young, but the main character is old enough to have 6 kids, maybe he started young, I didn't get far enough to figure out how old the guy was.
- Lack of character building, I didn't care about any of the characters let alone care what happened next
- Lack of description, I've often complained when authors get overly descriptive, now I understand how much WORSE it is when the opposite is true, there is nothing to compel you to invest in the story
It would be a hard sell
Sean Runnette, he's age appropriate, and can pull off the snarky sarcasm I think the author was going for
It sounds like it was recorded on a personal PC with a dollar store microphone!!!
I am surprised Audible is selling such a low quality audio book..
