Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author MaryJanice Davidson’s tales featuring Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor are a perfect blend of humor, horror, and high fashion. In this 10th installment, Betsy finds herself puzzling over an unusual predicament. As the Vampire Queen, she believes she cannot die. So when she wakes in the morgue, it’s a bit confusing. Could it have something to do with her recent time-traveling excursion, or has a wicked enemy emerged who could be the end of Betsy once and for all?

Utterly Disappointing

In the beginning I LOVED this series because of the humor and the situations Betsy got herself into. The books were funny but now im sooooo disappointed. Its book 10 and the character show no growth, she still self centered, never listens, and complains constantly. I would have thought by now the author would have given her a little more depth then what she has. Also this book spent alot of time telling us things that happened in the previous books which was completely unnecessary. This will be my last Besty book which i hate to say, but her character no longer interest me. I wish the author would have spent more time in developing her character into someone who has learn from her previous mistakes and come out a little smarter and stronger because of that fact instead of all the dumb and totally unnecessary commentary that fills this book.

so over Besty

OMG I so hope this is the last of Queen Besty...... I have listen to all of this series, but I must say this book makes me want this series OVER... it was confusing all the way though, different timeline, different everything, nothing made any sense... and nothing was solved and then it was over WTH??? If you've been listening to this series, stop at the last book, this one is so not worth it.... sorry

Really not impressed

I have read all the books in this series. The first five books were cute and I thought they were good "no-brainer" books. However, each book just drives home how self-centered Betsy is. It becomes annoying and I can't seem to stomach it anymore. I think that I won't be reading anymore of this series unless there just aren't any other books to choose from that interest me. I'm not into books where characters take pride in being stupid. Betsy seems to do just that and it's rather obnoxious. Since when has being self-centered and stupid something to strive for??

Worse than the last one

I was really looking forward to this book after the debacle of the last one but this one is even worse. As bad as the last one was at least it had some action throughout. Part of the charm that captured originally me was Betsy's dtizeness (I know that's not a word). She would lose focus and go off topic. It was fun. In this book it went way to far. It seems like the author didn't have enough content for a full book so she had to add more and more nonsense dialogue. It would have been better if the author and publisher would just have said "this is mini book in the series and charged half-price" If they had done that and just cut in half the useless dialogue I would probably have given it at least 3 stars. I guess it's hard to keep it interesting after so many books. Maybe it's time to wrap the series up with one last book and go out with a good one. This one is just bad.

Ugh

I'm a big MJD fan. I've read the whole Betsy series... some books twice but this one ... ugh. Banging my head against the wall might have been less frustrating. The story was pointless, Betsy was... HORRID! no growth, I think she actually got more immature. Her ramblings were annoying (as with undead and unfinished) pointless, some were humorous but most of the time I just rolled my eyes and tried to figure out what she was talking/thinking about.
I'm not sure I'd read anymore of this series based on this book.
I could go on and on but.. err.. I won't.

Bottom line, I don't recommend this one. It would be easier just to read a summary.

great new story arc, still good old queen betsey

This series seems to get dogged more than any other I have read. I generally hate chick lit, but I adore this series. The last couple of books have taken a different turn, with more focus on the antichrist and betsey. I personally think this is a great turn.
while it is true that many things are repeated from earlier books, it is also rue that for this story it does work. we are talking about different timelines and she is referring back to the previous timeline she knows. there is a reason for this.
I found this a humorous listen ad a good addition to the series. Some people seem to take this way too seriously. We are talking about a vampire queen who faints at the mention of Leboutin not existing in her new timeline, not Jane Austin.
I do recommend it; my one complaint is that the dialogue often goes back and forth and it can occasionally be difficult to discern who is speaking.

let down!

Just was not as good as the other books in this series. Felt like it was the same as the last one that was released! Love the narrator though, Nancy Wu is great!

As always amusing, but...

As always, Maryjanice Davidson is amusing and I enjoy her style of writing. Being a fan of the Queen Betsy series, I was excited to see the new one was available and downloaded it immediately. It seemed like I was listening to one that has already been released. She recapped virtually every one of the previous books, so alot of it was repetition. Listening to this, I got confused on where we were when....
Perhaps rather than repeating the same premise, perhaps Queen Betsy could actually get into a new type of situation. This book in the series was too much "same ol', same ol".

Not that bad...

I was almost afraid to get the new "Queen Betsy" based on what some of the reviewers said, but I went for it... had to see what was going to happen!

It was certainly not as bad as others made it out to be - Betsy is the same vampy gal in this book as she is in all the others - but I can't say that I found this as entertaining as the first several books. (What was up with Nick/Dick... I don't know why his name had to change...) :)

I think MaryJanice Davidson is building toward something interesting... but it's unfortunate that the story has lost some of the charm and fun that it had when we started.

I will keep reading/listening! PS: Nancy Wu does an outstanding job as always!!

ok

It is hard to follow along- I think reading this book would be better. I am going to give it a chance. I would skip betsy for something else for audio reasons, not for content. Don't get me wrong, the person reading it does a good job, but the problem is the following the book itself while it is being read out loud.
