Publisher's summary

The new novel in the hit New York Times best-selling Dresden Files series.

The Warden Morgan has been accused of treason against the Wizards of the White Council - and there's only one, final punishment for that crime. He's on the run, wants his name cleared, and needs someone with a knack for backing the underdog. Someone like Harry Dresden....

Now, Harry must uncover a traitor within the Council, keep a less-than-agreeable Morgan under wraps, and avoid coming under scrutiny himself. And a single mistake may cost someone his head - someone like Harry

Critic reviews

“Fans of Laurell K. Hamilton and Tanya Huff will love this series.” (Midwest Book Review)

“Superlative.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review)

“Butcher...spins an excellent noirish detective yarn in a well-crafted, supernaturally-charged setting. The supporting cast is again fantastic, and Harry’s wit continues to fly in the face of a peril-fraught plot.” (Booklist, starred review)

One of my favorite series

I rarely reread series bc there are always a long list of others I haven’t made my way through. I love Dresden too much to stay way for too long. It never disappoints.

Awesome and sooo WONDERFUL❣️

I’m evidently really slow “discovering” the Dresden Files. I read the post from 14 years ago about how this reader had read the Jim Butcher books - twice - yet was thrilled and delighted with James Marsters “take on” these books… I’ve not read the book. I did see the TV show years ago.. but these are of course extremely better and wonderful. I’m on to the next. Beyond Very Happy to be allowed to experience Harry’s world and epic adventures. I’m extremely Grateful to the genius Jim Butcher and the eloquent - masterful narration from James Marsters❣️👏🏽👏🏽 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Another great Dresden File.

A good addition to the series. However, if you haven't read any of the series before, I would not start with this one.

And Marsters does a very nice job on the narration. I think he does a good job of capturing Harry's voice without the narration being distracting from the story itself. Always a plus in an audiobook.

Another Great Story from the Dresden Files!

Jim Butcher just gets better and better with each book. And, James Marster gets better and better with each one of these books that he narrates for audiobook. James Marster's use of voices (especially for tiny little fairies!) is fabulous! Very/VERY good job! This was a really fun book. Lots of intrigue and plot twists. And, the plotting was NOT cliche or easy to guess. Also, I really like the character development in this series. I look forward to listening to the next book!

James Marsters is awesome

I have read and loved every one of Jim Butcher's books. I needed to take a long road trip so decided to try Turn Coat as an audio book. James Marsters is a wonderful narrator, brings the characters to life without using a bunch of hokey voices. I loved listening to it and was able to track the story well while I drove. I will definitely get another Butcher book and will be looking for anything else Marsters narrates.

The best of the series

This is the 11th book of the series. If you are wondering if author is running out of ideas, fear not. This book had a great interweaving of many characters and includes some elements that lead into the next books. I cant wait for the next one.
