Publisher's summary

The new novel in the hit New York Times best-selling Dresden Files series.

The Warden Morgan has been accused of treason against the Wizards of the White Council - and there's only one, final punishment for that crime. He's on the run, wants his name cleared, and needs someone with a knack for backing the underdog. Someone like Harry Dresden....

Now, Harry must uncover a traitor within the Council, keep a less-than-agreeable Morgan under wraps, and avoid coming under scrutiny himself. And a single mistake may cost someone his head - someone like Harry

Critic reviews

“Fans of Laurell K. Hamilton and Tanya Huff will love this series.” (Midwest Book Review)

“Superlative.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review)

“Butcher...spins an excellent noirish detective yarn in a well-crafted, supernaturally-charged setting. The supporting cast is again fantastic, and Harry’s wit continues to fly in the face of a peril-fraught plot.” (Booklist, starred review)

The best book in the series... so far.

This book is amazing! Just when you think this series can't get any better, you encounter this roller coaster of a story which seems almost perfect in every way!

One of the Best in the Series

This book was heartbreaking, but it just reinforces how beloved the characters are. The story felt very cohesive, well-planned, and well-executed even though Dresden took some major L's. I just really hope Thomas finds himself and happiness.

Love it.

Another great edition. For the love of God can we get a Harry and Murphy relationship?

good audiobook and great series

A few years ago they had one season of "The Dresdin Files" on the Syfy channel. I got hooked on the series; first TV and then Jim Butcher's Dresdin books. Since then I have gone through all of them and always look forward to the next episode. The audio book version of Turn Coat did a good job of bringing the book to life. The narrator was excellent, making the characters real and unique. I look forward to both reading the next installment and then listening to it on audible.

One of the best in the series!

Really enjoyed the storyline and how it continues to build the world of magic. The twist ending was totally unexpected but awesome!

Great

I hope Butcher does 20 more of these. Great characters, story and especially the narrator.

Audio Harry

I have read all the the Harry Dresden novels and have been reluctant to listent to any. I'm always afraid that the narrator will destroy my idea of Harry and his world. I need not have worried. James Marsters does a remarkable job of capturing the essense of these characters. The story is tightly written and full of surprises. Dresden fans won't be disappointed.
