Publisher's summary

Lanik Mueller is a "rad" - radical regenerative - a freak who can regenerate injured flesh...and trade extra body parts to the Offworld oppressors for iron. On a planet without hard metals, or the means of escape, iron offers the promise of freedom through the chance to build a spacecraft.

But it is a promise which may never be fulfilled, as Lanik uncovers a treacherous conspiracy beyond his imagination. Now charged with a mission of conquest - and exile - Lanik devises a bold and dangerous plan to finally break the vicious chain of rivalry and bloodshed that enslaves the people of the planet Treason.

Fantastic!

Simply fantastic. I am a huge fan of OSC and this book did not disapoint; a tale akin to the great Greek and Roman epics with a dash of Gulliver's Travels. Of course, the narration by Rudniki is superb as always. I highly recommend this book.

loved it and hated it.

The idea's and style of writing are what you have come to expect from this authentic writer. The journey you take with the characters never gets old. I've read some of his books twice(mither mage series). I hope Orson Scott Card continues his adenture and is will to share them. I can't say I'm not greedy for more.

GREAT!

Parts of it are a little uncomfortable until a certain point. But I think I might like Treason more than any single book in the Enderverse. Excellent work Orson!

A twisting sci-fi must-listen.

I have been a fan of Orson Scott Card since Enders Game like most. I found Treason while browsing for a new title. The summary teases at the whole of this story, and my expectations were exceeded. Lots of concepts in this story were well developed and make for a memorable and thought provoking tale.

Diamond in the rough

I have always like Card's writing, to open the book the author gives a simple history of the book which I liked very much. It's nice to know a little behind the scenes action to go along with the book. From the description of the plight of the main character I was worried that this would be a "made for TV" quality book. Something so over simplified and lacking in reason that it wouldn't make sense. All of my worries we unfounded. The book was great. the author mentioned that he wished he would have written it in third person instead of 1st, but I think that telling this in the 1st person was very right for this book. It made sense. It gave a sense of solitude, which was reinforced over and over in the events of the book as well. The author also mentions that there is no need for any follow ups to the book either, I don't really agree, I would love to hear about the adventures of the main character's children.

Good book

Great decent voice but only the one man reads it and it is weird at times. But good job

A good second novel

Not my favorite by Card and pretty similar to his other earlier non-Enderverse works. A decent read but not great.

It’s a keeper.

Treason is a wonderfully engaging and original story! It went in totally unexpected but absolutely fulfilling directions.

Exiled Price gets Superpowers

Was entertained all the way through. Enjoyed the protagonist, thought the world was fun and creative. Main critism is in the relative power creep of the book. Hero becomes absolutely broken towards the middle, and the author has to cheat a bit (by way of selective stupidity/amnesia) to hit the desired story beats. Also strays at times from Sci-fi in favor of Avatar the Last Airbender.
All in all a good read, and hard to argue with free.
