Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

Towers of Midnight

While some of the characters remain completely annoying (i.e. Elaine, Morgase) others have burst like a night flowers shooting sparks into the sky (i.e. Mat, Perrin, Avienda, Egwene, etc). The pace is edge-of-your-seat, nail-biting awesomeness!!! The last scene was a tad anti-climactic but it in no way detracts from this being an amazing read. I have truly enjoyed listening to the last few books (except for Kate Reading...she can be a bit monotone). Brandon Sanderson has far exceeded my expectation in his authorship and I am looking forward to reading the last book in the WoT series as well as beginning his other series. I really hate to see it all coming to an end but it sure has been one heck of a ride.

The penultimate volume of the Wheel of Time!

Another amazing volume in Jordan's "Wheel of Time" . . . bringing us up through the penultimate stories!
When Jordan died, Sanderson took over the writing of the final volume - "A Memory of Light" - that has expanded into three volumes. The two volumes to this point proved that Jordan's spirit if alive and well in the series. Sanderson wrote based on Jordan's notes, his private conversations with Jordan, and with the assistance of Jordan's widow, who knew much of how the story is supposed to end. When they knew Jordan was dying, they made every effort to make sure Sanderson could complete the series the way Jordan intended.
As skeptical as I was when I heard this, Sanderson actually *can* write with Jordan's "voice," and it works. It works very well.
So here we are, approaching the end. I started reading "The Wheel of Time" in the beginning of 1992; the final volume has become three books, and they are amazing to this point. So much that was set up decades ago has finally come about, so many plot threads have been resolved as we approach the end. It is eminently satisfying.
The end of the series will be equally satisfying in many ways . . . though I have my own suspicions about the ultimate ending of the series and the ways in which it might not be satisfying. After all, will it *really* end? In every single volume, Jordan actually reminds us, "There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time." This phrase is always followed by, "But it was *a* beginning." So I think we will have *an* ending. But never *the* ending . . .

I love the fact that the audiobooks kept the same narrators from book one all the way up through the end!

Sanderson was a great choice!

Though I do love the work of Robert Jordan, I think that Saunderson is doing a wonderful job finishing out the series. Though you can tell a bit of a difference in writing styles its not so drastic that is throws off the story telling. I love the fact that we are finally getting some closure on the story. It is hard to believe I'm saying this but the story was almost getting a little to epic. It felt like it was branching off in a few to many directions. With this book though you can tell we are coming down to the wire and tying up a lot of loose ends. If you are a fan of fantasy and you haven't picked up this series than you don't know what you are missing. Well worth the time and credits.

Best series of it's genre

this is the best series of it's genre,. Sanderson has done a good job of laying out Jordans story, but his writing is not even close. The beautiful city with the beautiful buildings...you get my drift. if you're a fan of WOT it's a must read hut be warned.
