Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

Things are finally coming together!

I can't decide if it is Robert Jordan's plot finally coming together again or if Brandon Sanderson found a way to inject new life into the book with his ideas, but the last two books in this series have been excellent. It sounds like Jordan's first books in the series. Both michael kramer and kate reading are always a pleasure to listen to, and things move at a quick pace. A lot loose ends have been tied up and knowing the rest will all be taken care of in the next book sets the stage of anticipation for things to come!

Well done

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Only if my friend had a long attention span. This isn't a book for the weak minded or impatient.

What about Michael Kramer and Kate Reading ’s performance did you like?

They both have smooth, pleasant voices, they're good actors, and their speech is easy to understand.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It's 40 plus hours long, so no.

Action packed!!! Love this series!

I was relieved that the same narrators did this book as I have gotten quite used to their telling of the story!

This book is none stop action from beginning to end. I especially liked how the character's reunions were handled! Can't believe there is only one more book....

yet another great ending, I almost cried when old characters came back. The suspense came slowly but was always present.

Not Jordan, but ...

What made the experience of listening to Towers of Midnight the most enjoyable?

As usual, the most excellent Mr. Kramer and Ms. Reading made the story a pure joy to listen to. The Gathering Storm held more of the Jordan style, but this book is nearly all Sanderson. As a long time fan, I am not sure I appreciate the slide - Mr. Sanderson has a way of making everything too easy, in a way it never was with Mr. Jordan. All the solutions come too freely. I have read and listened to the book more than ten times, and it is a great book, but Mr. Sanderson treads the line between Light and Dark very finely indeed.

What other book might you compare Towers of Midnight to and why?

The Gathering Storm held some of the Sanderson style as well, but this reads more like a Sanderson book than a Jordan book. So, I would compare it to the a book of the Mistborn more than anything else.

What does Michael Kramer and Kate Reading bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Michael Kramer and Kate Reading for me ARE the Wheel of Time characters. Even when I read the books, I hear their voices in my head - especially, Mr. Kramer and the way he draws disparate characters like Mat and Lan into life with his wonderful characterization really make the series unforgettable. I have listened to the books numerous times, and sometimes it was just to enjoy the art of these amazingly gifted narrators.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I would not make this book into a film. It would only be a lame effort.

OH SO GREAT

While the gripes about Matt not being the same are legit, the book as a whole is tremendous. I was simply amazed at how well Brandon took over in the last book and this book is even better in my opinion. This series is one of my favorite and I will be so sorry to see it end. I actually found myself getting emotional, good and bad, at times in this book. For a guy this is saying something. Great read, a MUST get

The best

Sanderson’s writing is what this series needed! The characters are better for it. The story line is deftly woven. These final books are amazing.
Performances are spectacular!!!
Excited for the final “chapter”

Incredible

It’s been a long journey getting to this point but here I am about to start the last book and im excited. Jordan created wonderful characters in a wonderful word and he tells a wonderful story. Sanderson is finishing this series in Jordan’s style but with his master touch. The narrators are always great. What can I say, this is shaping up to be one heck of a story. I’m so glad I didn’t stop reading around book 11. It was close.
