Publisher's summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers and listeners around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

The seals of Shayol Ghul are weak now, and the Dark One reaches out. The Shadow is rising to cover humankind.

In Tar Valon, Min sees portents of hideous doom. Will the White Tower itself be broken?

In the Two Rivers, the Whitecloaks ride in pursuit of a man with golden eyes, and in pursuit of the Dragon Reborn.

In Cantorin, among the Sea Folk, High Lady Suroth plans the return of the Seanchan armies to the mainland.

In the Stone of Tear, the Lord Dragon considers his next move. It will be something no one expects, not the Black Ajah, not Tairen nobles, not Aes Sedai, not Egwene or Elayne or Nynaeve.

Against the Shadow rising stands the Dragon Reborn....

Great Story, Meh Characters Voices w/ Head colds

The character voices bugged me a bit, especially when the narrating woman (there's 2 narrators) voiced male characters (everyone had head colds). Towards the last couple hours it stopped pushing me out of the story. This is one of the first audio books to which I've listened.

Brandon Sanderson has brought the pace back

Sanderson brings some much needed thrill back to the series and the last battle feels like it's here!

Well done!!

Great book! I couldn't stop listening to it and am thoroughly excited for the last one.

An extra note, one big kudos for Sanderson. As much as I enjoyed Robert Jordan's story line and the world he created (I've reread the series almost every time there was a new release), the one major component that I've always found frustrating to read has been his character interactions and internal dialogues regarding those interactions. Many of these traits, interactions, lack of communication and internal drama always seemed very contrived and completely unrealistic to a degree that was painful for me to read. It's like a world filled with people that have the emotional maturity of my fiver year old. I mean, who really thinks like that? Sometimes funny, but mostly it just dragged out the story to no point. Now, I thoroughly love the way Sanderson includes all those personalities to stay within the story line, but it doesn't seem so contrived. It doesn't distract. It seems like all these amazing 20 - 300 year old characters finally made it through puberty and can hold a conversation. Thank you Sanderson for making the awesome even better. To reference a scene in the story... My wife will also send me a quick little message not to stay out too late drinking with the guys... that is a realistic interaction because she's concerned about my welfare and I lose track of time. Not because I'm a 36 year old wool headed idiot boy that can't even blow my nose without a woman telling me how and when to do it.

Sanderson Keeps true to Jordan's vision

Brandon Sanderson has done an excellent job in sticking with Jordan's voice and vision for the series. I'm very glad he was chosen to complete this Epic. Towers of Midnight, for me, is one of the best books in the latter half of the series. If you enjoyed the first three books this book is a return to that feel. Enjoy.

Sanderson adds so much to the series!!

While I have to admit that I dozed thru much of this series--I made the mistake of non-stop listening over the past 8 weeks and I DON'T recommend that--Brandon Sanderson's stepping in to finish the series has brought the books into a new dimension.

The boys have actually matured and started to become and act like men instead of pouty sulky children. The girls have grown even more into intelligent young women with the world on their shoulders-dealing with it in a powerful manner like a woman should.

I thank Sanderson for bringing so much to this, at times, tedious series. I doubt I would have made my way thru it if not for my daughters promise that the last few episodes were a big improvement.

I'm almost done with Towers of Midnight and looking forward to the next 2 books to finish out the series. While I imagine that, sometime in the future, I'll listen to this again right now I'm going to hit Brandon Sanderson's library and see what he comes up with on his own.

Favorite moments

I don't know if this is the best book in the series, but it certainly has some of the greatest moments of any of the Wheel of Time. Robert Jordan's world is expertly preserved in Sanderson's work. Great performance and an amazing story. The Wheel of Time is a must read for any fantasy fan. Audible 20 Review Sweepstakes Entry.

Great Listen

The voices of the narrators are excellent, as they take turns for the male and female POV characters. You know who is talking by their voice acting, loved it.

A single review for the whole story.

This has been a wonderful series. Some parts slowed and some was to much discription of things someone reading the series didn't need to hear over and over again. I general it was great. The narrators, being my first, I think did a fantastic job. Now I must wait for the last book. I'm listening to the preview and it will make it the more harder to wait.

Epic fantasy series.

I've loved the earlier books. But the last one and this one left me having to re-read the series feeling like I had missed something. But I still felt something was missing.
The narrator brings the story to life.
Reasons I enjoyed this audio book:
Witty, Wonderful characters, Great world building, Unpredictable, Original, easy to listen, Entertaining, action packed.
