Kai Owen reads this exclusive audio adventure.
It’s not easy being Rhys Williams. You’re married to the sexiest woman in Torchwood. She saves the world for a living, you move Lorries round in a timely fashion.
Suddenly, you’ve got a mystery of your own. Oh, it starts off being about missing fridges. But it leads to a midnight train pulling into an abandoned platform at Cardiff Station. What is the mysterious cargo that Rhys is unloading from the train? Where’s it going? And what can be behind it?
Rhys Williams is going to get to the bottom of it. All by him, thank you very much. Soon Captain Jack is missing, his wife’s dead, and it’s up to Rhys to try and put everything right. And find those fridges...Written specially for audio by James Goss, ‘Ghost Train’ is set before the ‘Children of Earth’ TV story and features Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones, as played by John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd in the hit series from BBC Television. It is read by Kai Owen, who plays Rhys.

I'm a huge Torchwood fan and I love that this was narrated by Kai Owen. You can hear the difference between the different characters- a really nice job narrating.
I've listened to this so many times, and I still love it. We get so used to hearing things from the hero's point of view...this is the chance for a secondary character to explain Torchwood from an outsider's perspective. And boy, what a perspective! Thoroughly enjoyable, with tense moments and laugh-out-loud on the bus moments, well written and well narrated.
This is one of my favorite Torchwood stories. Kai Owen did a fantastic job narrating, which is helped by the fact that the story is told from Rhys's perspective. But more than that, it is written as though Rhys is telling YOU the story directly, and the characterization is just spot on. The only character Kai struggles to emulate is Capt. Jack, but he does better than all the other cast narrators from other stories. The story itself is complex, and layered, and so funny! This is one of the Torchwood stories that really captures the humor of the show without sacrificing quality of the story. Fantastic story, fantastic narration, and fantastic representation of the show - I absolutely loved it!
I didn't like Rhys very much in first two seasons of the show, but I fell in love with his character in this story. Rhys as Sherlock and Colombo in one person is just hilarious and Kai Owen is amazing narator and he is clearly enjoying it. And his impersonation of Ianto is pitch-perfect. This is one of my favourite Torchwood audios.
This is in the top 5 Torchwood stories I've listened to yet.
Kai Owen's reading is spot on for the pace of the story.
Yes, I did want to listen in one sitting, but was not able to. I have listened several times though because the story was so enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoy Kai's readings of the Torchwood stories.
