Still Great

I've both read and listened to this book several times and continue to enjoy it each time. The narrator does a fantastic job voicing the different characters and the story line is intriguing.

Okay

This is a "24" does "Total Recall" with a "Back to the Future" plot and all of the thrills of "Jurassic Park". I liked it okay but I not a particular fan of time period explored. I found myself mentally wandering as the narrator was flat.

Little long winded, worth a credit though!

The book was enjoyable as it involved time travel, technology and history. It was a little long for my tastes, but the author is clearly a long time writer with the talent to be able to weave the story for 15+ hours! Every "time travel" story that is written allows the writer to come up with their 'take' on how the space time continuum could be explained and this writer had some great *new* ideas. This book would be a good addition to your library if you are a fan of 'time travel' books. Returning? Nope. Felt this one was worth my time and 1 credit.

What a Book!

I found this book was very enticing, well paced, and very excellently narrated! I am listening to it for the second time!
Although the beginning might SEEM extranious, it all congeals together later on, and well worth listening to the entire Unabridged version! I loved it, and the narrator really gets kudos for putting the "Zing" into each of the characters!
It almost seemed like I was listening to a factual novel, not fiction :definately a first rate book for anybody!
If you like "The DaVinci Code" or any of the Clancy books, this one should definately be part of everyone's library!

Wonderfully Fun Back-In-Time Travels

If you could sum up Timeline in three words, what would they be?

Fun Time Travel Adventure (Ok that's 3 but required).

What did you like best about this story?

The modern day people going back into a time period I would not normally pick to visit via story and enjoyed because of it.

What does John Bedford Lloyd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

If not for my favorite narrators such as George Guidall and Will Wheaton, I would give John 5 stars. But I have to reserve the 5 stars for those that can tilt a story into 5 stars due to their phenomenal narrations.

John does good accents and voice inflections and worthy of becoming a chosen narrator. He's a little more "polished" and not as emotionally vibrant as my 5 star favs.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I never give these away. You guys try hard but nope, I won't do it.

This is one of my favorite stories. I'd say my top pick for time travel. Suspense, mystery, and time travel. What's not to like? I like it better than Jurassic Park (loved that too). And I loved the ending! Perfect choice.

Very captivating book, I did not wish to quit listening. Fantasic reading. Thought I Was there.

Better than the movie.

I think this has a lot of potential to be made into a sequal ore even a series of books.

Loved the story.

Great twist on the classic time paradox story! Loved the characters, the settings, the situations... However, some of Crichton's "scientific" explanations are weak at best. The worst part of the story however, is the narrator. I would hope in the future that you can find readers whose voices are not so annoying.

What did you love best about Timeline?

I liked the storyline of them traveling back in time and getting stuck. You got to hear how difficult the people of the past REALLY had it, not the HOLLYWOOD version where everything is glossed over and all of the characters are clean shaven and well groomed!

What other book might you compare Timeline to and why?

Back to the Future, but further back!!

What does John Bedford Lloyd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He had a good voice that you wanted to listen to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they're trying to get back in the end and everything just keeps going wrong!!

Good book, you won't be disappointed, especially if you like knights and castles.
