Publisher's summary

Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Maccon, has settled into domestic bliss. Of course, being Alexia, such bliss involves integrating werewolves into London High society, living in a vampire's second best closet, and coping with a precocious toddler who is prone to turning supernatural willy-nilly. Even Ivy Tunstell's acting troupe's latest play, disastrous to say the least, cannot put a damper on Alexia's enjoyment of her new London lifestyle.

Until, that is, she receives a summons from Alexandria that cannot be ignored. With husband, child, and Tunstells in tow, Alexia boards a steamer to cross the Mediterranean. But Egypt may hold more mysteries than even the indomitable Lady Maccon can handle. What does the vampire Queen of the Alexandria Hive really want from her? Why is the God-Breaker Plague suddenly expanding? And how has Ivy Tunstell suddenly become the most popular actress in all the British Empire?

"The world of Timeless is a unique recipe of steampunk and fantasy spiced with light sprinkling of romance. Its setting is rich for characters to romp about in, but the unbridled playfulness of the language and dialogue shines brightest."—Miami Herald

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

quite a few twists and turns

as it turns out this book series really did decide to Veer off course and change everything you thought you knew about most of our secondary characters. I applaud the way that it led this little spider webbed Adventure having everything touching connect while it's spun itself in a rather Labyrinthian manner

fantastic as always!

I loved every bit of this. my only complaint is I finished it! xD
The story was entrancing and transportive as it really feels like you're there. I have no idea how the reader can keep all her different voices straight and its simply delightful!

OK Ending

An overall enjoyable ending for a fun series, with many loose ends tied up and some surprising happenings also. I must say that Biffy’s growth and increasing role in the pack was an interesting and welcome direction that I was not expecting. Some things that happened did not make sense to me, and the attitudes towards and treatment of Egyptians left me feeling a bit uncomfortable. Also, Felicity’s character through the whole series was just an annoyance to me. Her effect on plot could have as easily been done by other characters without her bringing down each scene she was in.

The audio narration was great, as always. Emily Gray added a dimension to the series that definitely improved the overall work for me. I really recommend listening to the audiobooks for these stories.

Overall, the book was not as good as it could be, but it was good to have resolution of a number of questions.

Fantastic Fifth Installment

In the fifth Parasol Protectorate book, Alexia and family--and an entire acting troupe--make their way to Egypt at the invitation of a very ancient vampire queen. But they may also have ulterior motives for visiting as well. A fantastic and fun--and occasionally devastating--end to the Protectorate series.

The narrator, Emily Gray, is also wonderful as always. She does an exceptional job with all characters, even (and especially) the toddler Prudence.

I really love this series!

What did you love best about Timeless?

The development of characters from the previous novels and the combination of genres, there's romance, action, mystery and humour.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course Alexia is fabulous, but there is such a well-balanced ensemble of characters that it really is too hard to pick.

Which scene was your favorite?

The fight scenes in the the Alexandria hive, or any with descriptions of Egypt.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Something witty, I'm sure!

Any additional comments?

I'd love to see the earlier novels in this series recorded as audiobooks. I wouldn't recommend listening to them out of order.
