Publisher's summary

Alpha team, the world's best and last surviving Tier-1 operators, are adrift on Lake Michigan - and fast drifting into what looks like a damned hostile shoreline. Deep in the National Forest nearby, a former police officer and survivalist battles to keep her family alive - and tries to decide whether the commandos of Alpha are more dangerous to her alive or dead. Meanwhile, the John F. Kennedy, the world's last floating supercarrier, is run aground off the coast of Virginia - and facing a veritable hurricane of the dead, blowing in fast. And finally, back in Fortress Britain, the terrible outbreak from the Channel Tunnel turns out not to have been so contained after all - and a death grip is beginning to close on London, and shaping up into humanity's very last stand...

Zombie Genre Wins Again

What I am about to say might make a few of you jealous... I just had a six week holiday! The bad news is that I could not and did not listen to a single audio book in that time. It started to feel like I was never going to return to my audio books. I tried several times with different books from different genres. But I am glad to say the one which got me back again was a zombie story. If it wasn't was my good old faithful zombie favourites I would be faced with a boring commute and sadly more time to ponder my own worthless life... did I just really type that? I need another holiday!

The main characters are still just as hard, still just as tough, but this time round a softer side starts to come out. Don't worry manly men this is no Mills and Boon type deal.

RC Brays narration once again captures the personality of each character. Honestly, this book seems written with his narration in mind!

I find with Bray’s narration 1.25x speed is perfect, but once again this decreases what is already a short title to begin with. Since buying this one, I see the Omnibus version has been released. That does dramatically slash the cost of the series. Just wish I knew of this earlier! My suggestion is just go buy the Arisen omnibus and save yourself the money! You can’t just buy one of them and not want all of them!

If you are the type who like me, in the event of the zombie Apocalypse would be the first to go… you know… to fat, to slow, to soft, then this is the one for you. Live through the lives of those who are just mean and lean fighting machines!

Once again I can highly recommend this one!

Spec Ops vs the undead hoards

Any additional comments?

If you enjoy military thrillers and tales of the undead you will love this series! These books will draw you in and not let go. A series compendium was just released so you may as well buy the whole set so you don't have to stop to reload. And you know - in the ZA reloading can take precious seconds that you just don't have as the hungry zombie hoards crush in around you!

one criticism

it's a serpentine belt not a timing belt other than that it was a good story

Great addition, but still unfinished series.

Excellent zombie series. This is a well integrated addition and continues the story. It is not a conclusion to the series though. Recommend it if you read the others.

Great Series

I've read and/or listened a lot of books in this genre and these are by far the best, and it's not even close.

My only criticism is they are way too short for Audible - they need combine at least two books for an Audible credit.

Nothing happens

There's one thing that moves the story along in all the hours of this book. Definitely not what I've come to expect.

Continues to be Awesome

I have listened/read a lot of this genre. This series is now my fave- topping even The Remaining and Lee Harden series. It had everything. And I love RC Bray’s narration. Going to listen to the 4th one in the series and so glad there is so many! But wish there was even more!!
