Wonderful, smart and funny

And the narrator is great too.... Something one appreciates after a few... lesser performances. Not by him though, mr Reynolds is consistent in his excellence. I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest of the series.

Very enjoyable.

The climactic ending left much to be desired but the story was fun and engaging.

Fine, well-balanced fantasy story-telling

I'm so glad to have stumbled upon Sullivan and the Riyria Revelations!
What I loved about Theft of Swords:
- Interesting but not overly complex world building
- Plenty of likable characters
- Well-differentiated and not overly-numerous characters
- Humor
- Magic and wonder
- Dual protagonists.... with a fun dynamic

It's been a while since I enjoyed fantasy fiction that didn't demand that I keep track of a dozen cultures and civilizations, a dozen characters, a dozen interwoven plots, etc., etc.
Though some authors make all of that wading pay off (B. Sanderson comes to mind!), far more just wear me out.
So far, Sullivan's work is just the right balance of simple, well-tensioned story telling without top heavy historical, cultural and psychological analysis.
Can't wait to read book 2.

Such a fun book! Fantastic narrarion.

Loved it. Not your normal fantasy novel, this is a fun story of a duo of thieves that has twists all along the way. It doesn't follow your normal story arch and it makes for a fun ride.

Excellent book! !

Good character development and the reader was able to change voice for each character. I enjoyed this book, and I hope the next book in this series is as good.

Intelligent imaginary character themes.

Fun stuff, imaginative, a word Smyth. gets dull and esoteric at times as Sullivan describes color commentary on everyday and the simplistic endlessly. some very touching scenes between a father and daughter. forward thinking human evolutionary truths.
