Publisher's Summary

The complete number one best-selling Walking Plague Trilogy now available in one volume, including:

Zombie Patrol: Los Angeles County park ranger Jack Carter is about to discover that not all is as it seems in his tranquil life. Once responsible for patrolling the many public parks, in particular the popular Griffith Park with its famous observatory and zoo, Jack is about to discover that a whole new kind of animal roams his woods. The undead kind. It begins when his brother, on leave from the military, arrives sick. Deathly sick. Jack's concern turns to alarm when his own flesh and blood turns on him, forcing the park ranger to take drastic measures. Now searching for answers and help for his brother, Jack finds himself on the run from a lethal group of government agents - and from something monstrous that stalks his woods. Something not of this world... and hungry for flesh.

Zombie Rage: Now, as Jack struggles to stay sane - as the hunger within him grows to insatiable, uncontrollable levels - he's about to confront his greatest fear. Indeed, the cure to the worldwide infection just might be worse than the zombies themselves. Now, with the walking dead spreading like wildfire, feasting on all those unlucky enough to cross their paths, one family just might have come across a cure to save all mankind... one family against an army of the undead.

Zombie Mountain: Now, with his daughter bitten, it's a race against time to save her - and stop a madman hellbent on destroying everything that Jack has fought so hard to save. With timing running out, and a doomsday clock ticking, Jack Carter will sacrifice everything to save the ones he loves... even while the walking dead multiply... and grow hungrier and hungrier.

"Very slow book with little action."

No zombies until half way thru the trilogy. A lot of parts are not explained or reasoned well. And the characters were no overly like able.

While the story itself was not bad, there were continuity issues with the books. If not for these issues, the books would have been a solid 4 stars, but as it is I could only give them 3 stars.

    "Wish I hadn't wasted a credit"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    Teenagers

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Jonathan Maberry, Predator One

Would you listen to another book narrated by David Doersch?

    Yes

What character would you cut from The Walking Plague Trilogy?

The daughter - Anna - unbelievable character and a pain - I wanted to bite her myself!

    Any additional comments?

I was very disappointed with this series. I love zombie stories, and to be honest, I am not too picky, I will give anything a try, unfortunately, Mr. Rain hit a new low for me. This book was severely hampered by unbelievable characters, VERY poor dialogue, and about as much tension as I face opening the fridge at night to ponder what's for dinner!

The daughter was a pain in the behind, the girlfriend must be the dumbest cop in the world, and the two military guys were in the navy but kept referring to their Army bond? I am not military, so perhaps I don't know, but that didn't seem correct. Jack was a very poor decision maker, but then when he does act, his actions and decisions are highly questionable - people would not be that dumb! And don't even get me started on the cure - really, the way to cure zombieism is to drown! What. How. Huh? The scene in the restrooms at the beach was particularly bad - embarrassingly so - in fact, it may be one of the more bizarre (and poorly written) scenes I have ever "read".

Overall, these books sucked and I cannot wait for my 6-month allotment of returns to come around so I can get my credit back!

The narrator was very good. Made a poor story work. They had a great idea and fell flat. Some real stretches and clueless inferences. The bad guy didn't make any sense, and the authors have no idea about the military and its working (though 2 main characters are military)

Was suspenseful with a little bit of humor and a slight romance. It was a great trilogy and ended perfectly.

I love this book!!! The performance, writing and story were great. Keeps you there and makes you want to not stop listening. It takes alot for me to get into a book but this one was intense. I would love to be a narrator!

    "Boring"

This book started off great but then quickly fizzled out. Way too much focus on the father-daughter relationship and not nearly enough on the actual zombie apocalypse. The zombies were like extras in a story about a father and his "baby girl." Nowhere near enough action for this genre. A total disappointment.

    "Book was OK"
What did you like best about The Walking Plague Trilogy? What did you like least?

The best thing about this is that it was all in one book. I would've been pissed if I had to wait each time a different part came out (because of how each section ended). Truth be told, I'd probably never listened to part 2&3 if I had to wait on them.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Added more zombie scenes. Make it less about daddy's girl, and more about the flesh eating creatures :)

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Given what he had to work with, nothing.

Could you see The Walking Plague Trilogy being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes, on the Sci-Fi channel. No "Stars" for this one, just low budget "B" actors

    Any additional comments?

The narrator reminded me of Bob Belcher from Bob's Burgers. Wasn't a fan of his voice. Some parts seemed as if they were added/edited at different times; in the middle of a sentence. Very annoying. Also, This seemed more like a YA read.

    "Dreadful"
What disappointed you about The Walking Plague Trilogy?

    Story, characters, pace.

What will your next listen be?

Well it won't be written by J.R. Rain and Elizabeth Basque!

What didn’t you like about David Doersch’s performance?

Whether the author meant it or not the narrator makes most characters appear whinny and pathetic.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Walking Plague Trilogy?

Just the part between the first page and the last page.

    Any additional comments?

I am a big zombie fiction fan and have had to learn to be reasonably forgiving and open minded to this emerging genre but this trilogy strikes me as jumping-on-the-band-wagon without prior planning or even a viable concept. It is padded out beyond belief and clearly plans to force the reader to buy more and more books thus fleecing the consumer of as much £ as possible. Don't pick it just because the playing time is reasonably long.

What disappointed you about The Walking Plague Trilogy?

I love zombie apocalypse novels and this one seemed to have the makings of a solid story. Unfortunately it didn't play out like that.I found the 3 women annoying, particularly Anna. Caracatures with shrill high pitched voices The narrators squeaky female voice was distracting....

Would you recommend The Walking Plague Trilogy to your friends? Why or why not?

Not really, there's much better out there.

Would you be willing to try another one of David Doersch’s performances?

Only if he wasn't trying to do a woman's voice, it was awful, detracted from the tale.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I liked the background narrative, the zoo,
