Supernatural superhero Rachel Morgan must counter a strange magic that could spell civil war for the Hollows in this sexy and bewitching urban fantasy adventure in acclaimed New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison's Hollows series.

Witch and day-walking demon Rachel Morgan has managed to save the demonic ever after from shrinking, but at a high cost. Now, strange magic is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong, and the truce between the races, between Inderlander and human, is shattering. Rachel must stop this dark necromancy before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and all-out supernatural war breaks out.

Rachel knows of only weapon to ensure the peace: ancient elven wild magic, which carries its own perils. And no one know better than Rachel that no good deed goes unpunished . . .

I waited a long time for this (it seemed like forever!) and Ms. Harrison delivered as always :) I totally enjoyed the book. I always like the idea of Rachel and Trent being together, even way back when he put her in the rat's cage! (I think it was a rat, hamster..or rodent of some kind...humm may have to start back over and listen to it again :)) I was really pulling for Ivy....never felt good about Rachel and Ivy hooking up, lol but it was tempting :) Who I was excited about was Nute (sp?) I liked her/his role in the story a lot better than past ones. It seemed like everyone was content or happy except for Al, poor demon. And for all the action junkies, yes we had shoot-um up, blow-um up and knock-um down action. Oh, and I LOVED the mystics! Just imagine what trouble Rachel could get into with new powers from the mystics? ( hint, hint, and a wink) This addition to the series was a good as gorging on chocolate and almonds and finding out you lost 5 pounds because of it!

Unbelievably Satisfying!

What a great story! Trent and Rachel work very well together now, and there are the usual interferences from Trent's "ex". Newt is very much front and center in this tale, adding adventure and a lot of story backfill that makes the book a rich read. Have a listen to this one for a great escape!

Rachel is a heroine we all love because she is just so bad at it! In a good way, of course. She spends an inordinate amount of time saying "I'm sorry", but in the end, she gets the job done.

Without delivering any spoilers, I was very relieved when I finally got to the end of the book. I would have been very sad if it had ended any other way.

Whew!

Would you listen to The Undead Pool again? Why?

Yes. To absorb details I may have missed the first time around.

What did you like best about this story?

The story line and the narrator.

What about Marguerite Gavin’s performance did you like?

She is wonderful! No one could do Jenks better than her!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

So Thrilled that Rachel and Trent are finally together, but want Rachel to kick ass again without second guessing herself now that she's in love. I was extremely sad to see the relationship between her and Al come to an end. I hope it is just temporary.

Any additional comments?

I think Kim Harrison was up for 12 or 13 in this series. I hope they sign her at least a few more as I don't know how you could cram all the is left unanswered into just one more.

Keep them coming!!!!!

This book was not as good as the others and left me disappointed at the end. I expected more since it was the next to last book. The ending felt like it should have been the middle.

Just Eh
