Publisher's summary

Everyone thinks I'm a genius. Everyone is wrong. Sure, I finished Harvard at 18 and now make crazy money at a hedge fund. But that's not because I'm unusually smart or hard-working. It's because I cheat.

You see, I have a unique ability. I can go outside time into my own personal version of reality - the place I call - "the Quiet" - where I can explore my surroundings while the rest of the world stands still.

I thought I was the only one who could do this - until I met her. My name is Darren, and this is how I learned that I'm a Mind Reader.

A Must Read!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, anyone who loves syfy/thriller/action and the unknown!!! The book keeps you looking for more and wanting to keep listening/reading flipping through the pages!

What did you like best about this story?

The silence and how he keeps going back and forth between the two dimensions.

Which character – as performed by Roberto Scarlato – was your favorite?

Darren for obvious reasons... main character of the first book and wanting to know more about him!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

In a single touch.....

Any additional comments?

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book (audible) as I like to flip pages by hand. But OH MY GOODNESS this book was awesome, so glad I was able to listen to it. At first I was a bit confused at what was going on but in Chapter 2, I was deep into it and couldn't stop!!! Audible took about 6 hours to listen to, so I was able to finish today (after receiving this for free for my unbiased opinion) I SOOOO want book two! Who are you!?? What are you? Jumper, Reader, Pusher.... This is a definite must read for any syfy action thriller lover :) Pick it up!!!!!!

If you could sum up The Thought Readers in three words, what would they be?

My three words would have to be Exciting, Refreshing and Awesome.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was Darren closely followed by Eugene and I really liked the narrators voice for Eugene.

Have you listened to any of Roberto Scarlato’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first Audible book and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series and now searching for other books by Roberto Scarlato.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Hmm I don't want to spoil it for anyone but towards the end was probably the bit that moved me the most.

Any additional comments?

Loved it and it was one of those books where you just want to listen to more and disappointed once it was finished.

Great Story & StoryTeller!!

Any additional comments?

Let me say this up front - No Spoilers

I got this as an audiobook and intended to use it for my commute to work time. However, I started listening to it and didn't want to stop. It was a good thing I didn't have to go to work. I finished this book in one day.

The Thought Readers is a fast paced, action-filled, Sci-Fi-Fantasy story by Dima Zales and Anna Zaires told in the first person by the protagonist. I can tell you they hit this one out of the park. The story has interesting storylines and is full of unexpected events that keep you riveted to your seat waiting for more.

The protagonist of the story, Darren, has the ability to freeze time. He doesn't know how he does it or why. He calls this time stopping...the quiet. During this "quiet" he is totally unaffected. Everyone around him will be "frozen". By accident he meets someone, a girl, who can do the same thing he can...stop time. He now knows he is not alone.

As a protagonist, Darren is a likeable person. The author did a wonderful job of fleshing out this character and making her readers care what happens to him.

The narrator of the audiobook had a very nice voice and the inflections and accents he used only added to the appeal of this story.

If you like modern Science Fiction, then this will be a book for you. This book is full of intriguing twists.

Could have been better

It would have been better with out the left wing preaching and cashing people who don't agree.

Intelligent and unique take on mind reading

Where does The Thought Readers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Because of its unique take on mind reading and its well thought out process of mind reading, The Thought Readers ranks pretty high in my list of audiobooks.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eugene, the Russian brother. He brings a fun and playful personality into the book. Without him, the book wouldn't be the same.

What three words best describe Roberto Scarlato’s performance?

Fun Accents
Monotone at times
Clear

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Daren went back to talk with his parents about where he came from.

Any additional comments?

The author has a unique and interesting take on mind reading and the use of mind dimensions. The author does a great job of allowing the reader to explore this phenomenon from the protagonist’s point of view while shaping the concept with opinions from supporting characters.

I felt the book slowed down after the first few chapters but it was necessary for character development. It took a little while to see some real action but once the action started, I couldn’t stop listening.

My only complaint was towards the narrator’s voice in the audio book. His voice was often too monotone which made the main character, Daren, seem rather bland. I’m sure if I read the book rather than listened to it, I wouldn’t have this criticism.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it. I give it 4 stars

Great story, really annoying narration.

What did you love best about The Thought Readers?

This is a very intriguing story, with a unique plot line and original ideas. It's fast paced enough to keep the listener interested, but it doesn't feel rushed.

What other book might you compare The Thought Readers to and why?

I've never really read anything like it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Roberto Scarlato’s performances?

Actually, no, I don't think so. The strength of the story is the only reason I have been willing to endure the really annoying and distracting narration.

Great story Great storyteller

This book follows a man, Darren, who throughout his whole life thought he was the only one who was able to stop time and see what was going on around him and able to walk around while everyone else was stopped, stuck in time. Until one day he sees someone else moving around with him while he has stopped time.
If you have read "The Mind Readers: Stopping Time" then you know something about the story. The person he was moving around time with was Mira. Darren tracks down Mira and her brother Eugene in an attempt to find out more about what was happening to him. He learns that he is what they call "a reader". The other connection between them is that both of them had both parents murdered.
This story is full of mystery and intrigue. Stopping time, reading minds, splitting into other dimensions. There is a good storyline and the narrator is very good. He told the story very naturally and I liked his voice, perfect for telling the story. I am getting more and more interested in listening to the books of Dima Zales. He writes so you need to find out what happens next

Definitly a good read

Thought Readers: Mind Dimension is another good read written by Dima Zales and Anna Zaires. Following the story of Darren, for the rest of the world a wunderkind but he has a big secret. Darren can stop time and explore the world around him, which gives him an upper hand. It was a pleasure enjoying this book and seeing how Darren uses his ability. I saw myself in him, in actions that I would also if I had such ability. Very well written book, material that keeps you reading on and diving deep into the world of Mind Dimension.

Amazing plot! Highly recommended!

Any additional comments?

This is my second book by Dima Zales and Anna Zaires and i must say that I am really impressed! The duo did a great job in writing this book and never failed to disappoint. The Thought Readers is a well written book about a guy named Darren with an unusual gift of stopping time around him by phasing into what he calls "the Quiet". One fateful night in the casino, he discovered that he was not the only one who possessed this gift but another mysterious girl who went by the name Mira. With the help of his hacker friend, Albert, Darren tracked her and found himself facing her brother Eugene, instead. Darren found out that he had another special ability and later discovered that there were two types of people like them who had this gift, the Reader, like him who could get inside someone's thoughts; and the Pusher, who could make someone do what they want. As the story progressed, i was hooked! If you are a fan of sci-fi novels then this is definitely a must-read!

Story excellent; narrator pauses mid-sentence super often

Love the story. Weird pausing from the narrator chops sentences in half. Other than the pauses, good voice.
