Publisher's summary

With the joy of leaving Undraland behind, the anticipation of returning back to the Other Side, where Lucy is most familiar, has everyone in high spirits. Soon she realizes that there will be no white picket fence, no home, and no life until the final portal to the Land of Be is destroyed. Pesta uses every tool at her disposal to claw at Lucy, stopping at nothing to take down the one girl who's managed to escape her clutches time and time again.

Lucy Kincaid sheds her pacifist ideals once and for all as she fights for the people she loves, destroying the remnants of hope for a happy future in the process.

Amazing story but the links back to Charles hurts

Like he’s my favorite character and yeah he’s weird but given his lot in life. I seriously HATE that he’s gone. I refuse to acknowledge it and in my mind he’s still alive. This is why I try to avoid the later books in the series because I seriously cannot understand why you make us love him then kill him off. Ruined the story imo. No reason to kill him off other than to rip my heart out and stomp all over it. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a hate comment. I seriously fricking LOVE this series, I’m just heartbroken all over again from Charles dying. Like my boy didn’t even get to see the dirty lamppost Lucy made out with. What shame. 4/5 (-1 for my absolute favorite character gone. And what’s worse? Lucy doesn’t even remember it)

It doesn't end here?

As with the first four in the series, there's lots of action in book 5, lots of turmoil, and some surprises... I really enjoyed it! But it seems to wrap everything up pretty well so I can't wait to get started on book 6 to find out what happens to "the gang" after they seem to be settling into an odd but perfectly comfortable life together. Can't imagine what happens next!
