Publisher's summary

It’s been two years since the vampiric virus was unleashed in The Strain and the entire world now lies on the brink of annihilation. There has been a mass extermination of humans orchestrated by the Master - an ancient vampire possessed of unparalleled powers. The future of humankind lies in the hands of a ragtag band of freedom fighters - Dr. Eph Goodweather, Dr. Nora Martinez, Vasiliy Fet, and Mr. Quinlan, the half-breed offspring of the Master who is bent on revenge. It’s their job to overturn this devastating new world order. But good and evil are malleable terms now, and the Master is most skilled at preying on the weaknesses of humans.

Now, at this critical hour, there is evidence of a traitor in their midst... And only one man holds the answer to the Master’s demise, but is he one who can be trusted with the fate of the world? And who among them will pay the ultimate sacrifice - so that others may be saved?

Only worth it to find out how it ends

Generally speaking it was not as entertaining as the first two books as the pace of this one overall was much slower. Daniel did a mostly ok reading but at times his character voices blended too closely and I found myself trying to decipher the character he was narrating.

Action.Drama.Story.Goosebumps. Brilliance!

I could not contain my excitement while waiting for this book and the conclusion of this series. I was not disappointed!

This trilogy is a must-read, not only for those who love the paranormal suspense genre, but also those who like historical or contemporary suspense and even horror.

I think these will eventually be made into movies and the best part is that the author, Del Toro, is also a director!

I will read this trilogy over and over for years to come!

Great end to the trilogy

Great Characters well developed. Great story with many layers. You will care about the characters and even those left behind earlier in the trilogy.

A rounded end to a rounded story

The trilogy as a whole makes for a pretty good story, although something extrordinary keeps on missing at the end. After the first two books I didn't expect The Night Eternal to surprise me, and unfortunately it didn't. Now, the story is good enough to listen through the entire trilogy and entertaining enough to keep the listener's attention. I guess the biggest issue for me personally is del Toro's envolvement. I expected something special. And it is not. Good, entertaining and a nice listen, but not special.

Strong Finish

It wobbles a bit at the end, but is still a great finish. Look past the wholes in the conclusion, and the misuse of telekinesis vs telepathy, and The Night Eternal ties the story up nicely.
