Publisher's summary

It’s been two years since the vampiric virus was unleashed in The Strain and the entire world now lies on the brink of annihilation. There has been a mass extermination of humans orchestrated by the Master - an ancient vampire possessed of unparalleled powers. The future of humankind lies in the hands of a ragtag band of freedom fighters - Dr. Eph Goodweather, Dr. Nora Martinez, Vasiliy Fet, and Mr. Quinlan, the half-breed offspring of the Master who is bent on revenge. It’s their job to overturn this devastating new world order. But good and evil are malleable terms now, and the Master is most skilled at preying on the weaknesses of humans.

Now, at this critical hour, there is evidence of a traitor in their midst... And only one man holds the answer to the Master’s demise, but is he one who can be trusted with the fate of the world? And who among them will pay the ultimate sacrifice - so that others may be saved?

Weak Ending for an Otherwise Strong Trilogy

I'm glad I finished the series but the skow build of The Strain and the classic and tragic connecting story of The Fall set a high standard. Can you say, "Nuke the Shark?"

Riveting !!!

Sometimes trilogy's struugle to add closure to a long and winding story. Book 2 seemed to be my least favorite and book 1 my second favorite. I truly did not want this series to end...

Great ending to the series.

If you only watched the series you owe it to yourself to finish these books. Same story very different telling. Character voices top notch.

Cataclysmic finale to a story of biblical proporti

The two authors really take you back to the beginning with this book and answer all the questions you were left in doubt about in the first and second book, it tells the story of the genesis of the vampires, the ancients, the first few. It is full of action and very entertaining. This series is a MUST read for any vampire enthusiast.

Happy Reading

loved the whole series!

Bought the series before I finished the first book - it was that good. I flew through them! Writing was fast paced, no blah-blah-blah moments at all!! I'm not usually a fan of "series" books, but this one made me understand how one can get hooked. Characters are believable, monsters are freaky and villans are lovable. Just perfect.

WOW, just WOW

I've read a lot of horror, end of the world, zombie, vampire, etc.. and I can say that this trilogy was my favorite. Most of the time the books are great, but the endings are lackluster. This ended perfectly. It's not a fairy book ending, it's a fitting ending. And it does end. There are no hanging threads. We find out everything.

This is not a stand alone read. You have to read all three books to get the full appreciation. I can't wait to see what this author does next.

Always darkest before dawn

Guillermo del Toro doesn't take his foot off the trilogy has in this last installment of the Strain.

Good series!

All 3 books in the series were good reads. An interesting spin on Vampire mythology.
