Creates an Authentic, Fantastical World

The author has thought about everything that it takes to make an imaginary world feel real. Kvothe is interesting and brave, and I can't wait to learn more about him.

great book

not what I was expecting but a very good book none the less the narrator did a awesome job and can't wait to listen to the second book

Rothfuss is a true story teller!

I almost didn’t make it past the first 3 or so chapters, the verbiage was so foreign and a little hard to follow (I didn’t read any background on the story) but then it really picks up and is a true page turner! I can’t wait to finish the series. The performance is pretty good as well just not a lot of separate voices between narration and first person, but it’s written well enough it’s easy to follow.

The Tale of The Most Interesting Bard In The World

This is a phenomenal story after several chapters. Beware that the beginning is slow, but well worth the waiting. That’s not to say the beginning is wasted, just that it is a mystery that unfolds slowly and doesn’t make sense until the context is broadened. Give this one a chance, it will not disappoint. As usual, Nick Podehl does a masterful job of narrating and further breathes life into this exquisite tale. Looking forward to the next part in the series.

I'm an audio-addict, but can't listen to the same books twice. EXCEPT Patrick Rothfuss! The story, the characters and dialogue brings me back. At least until his next book is released!
