Publisher's Summary

The Year: 2085. Humanity has spread throughout the solar system. A stable lunar colony is agitating for independence. Lunar tourism is on the rise.... Against this background, professional Close Protection specialist Scotty Griffin, fresh off a disastrous assignment, is offered the opportunity of a lifetime: to shepherd the teenaged heir to the Republic of Kikaya on a fabulous vacation. Ali Kikaya will participate in the first live action role playing game conducted on the Moon itself. Having left Luna - and a treasured marriage - years ago due to a near-tragic accident, Scotty leaps at the opportunity.

Live Action Role Playing attracts a very special sort of individual: brilliant, unpredictable, resourceful, and addicted to problem solving. By kidnapping a dozen gamers in the middle of the ultimate game, watched by more people than any other sporting event in history, they have thrown down an irresistible gauntlet: to win the first game that ever became real. Pursued by armed and murderous terrorists, forced to solve gaming puzzles to stay a jump ahead, forced to juggle multiple psychological realities as they do... this is the game for which they've prepared their entire lives, and they are going to play it for all it's worth.

Dream on! Listen to another Dream Park novel.

"Good read, quick read, glad I did"

It's been 20 years since I last read a Dream Park novel, and I was glad to see a new take on the ideas of the original books. And I think it is the best one since the first one. The idea of doing a Game on the Moon makes a lot of sense (loonies would need the recreation). It was more of a techno-thriller than deep SF, but I liked it a lot. I've been needing some easy "SF Adventure" to take my mind off a lot of things, and this was just right.

    "Great gamer book"

Niven has outdone himself. This is an excellent listen. It is a "gamers in space" book and caused me to think of the movie TRON. At any rate, you will enjoy the game overlaid with the game overlaid with the game and all of it happens on the moon. What is real and what is not? You will enjoy listening and trying to figure out the answer to that question along with the characters in the story.

"The Great Narration Exceeds the Story"

Hey, don't get me wrong--this is a perfectly decent sci-fi yarn. But, it's only that. Decent. Not much more. But, Stefan Rudnicki's narration elevates the story beyond itself. I enjoyed this audiobook quite a bit, all the while knowing that it was more for the narration than the simplistic story, unbelievably plot twists and cookie cutter characters. Rudnicki. You da man!

"Had high hopes, but were not met..."

I'm a big fan of the Dream Park series, so I was ecstatic when I heard a new one was coming out. Unfortunately I felt let down this book. There wasn't as much 'Dream Park' action as I hoped there would be & the fictional backdrop of the 'game' was not very intriguing. There were some interesting scenes, but overall I was bored in places. The narrator's performance was also not too inspiring. Glad I listened to it instead of reading, but was hoping for more after my long wait for another "Dream Park" novel.
