    "a disappointing mess"

i found the first half of this book is mind numbingly boring, the second half picks up but ends on a downer.

    "Loved it!"
What made the experience of listening to The Magician King, Book 2 the most enjoyable?

It's such a good book. I loved it. Quentin makes some stupid decisions, and at times I really hate him and want to punch him in the face, but overall, I think it's fantastic

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Magician King, Book 2?

    Elliott!! Any part with him.

What does Mark Bramhall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's great. My friend made me watch the first episode of the TV show and I couldn't do it, All their voices were wrong. He just adds something special to the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it's too long. It took a few days, and I couldn't stop listening to it.

"really great apart from the ridiculous Australian accent."

The story is fantastic; as good if not better than the first book. Well paced and unexpected. Bramhall is a brilliant reader up to the point where Poppy, an Australian central character, is introduced. Her accent on the reading is so grating that i quickly started hoping she'd turn mute.

"Great story & storytelling- terrible Australian Accent!"

I really enjoyed this book, the story was great and engaging, though I found the end came a bit quickly after a long build up.

In general, the reading was excellent. The diction was clear and there was the right level of emotion. However, I had up take 2 stars off for the abysmal Australian accent. It was so bad that it took you right out of the story and whenever I heard it coming I would wince.

    Other than that, heartily recommended.

    "Very very good"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. Its so nice to have a bit of a twisted adult version of a fairy tale. It's got a sense of humour as well. The characters don't seem to take themselves as seriously as in most fantasy books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

So far, Julia. She's never what you expect.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

This is the reason I gave 4 stars, Poppy, who is meant to be Australian has the WORST Australian accent I have ever heard. The narrator is great at everyone else, but wow, every time Poppy speaks it sets my teeth on edge.

    "Better"

Definitely better than the first book with far fewer Narnia references, I will persevere and read the third book now. I really enjoy the detail when he writes about the magic and spell casting.
