Do not purchase

The story in this book might be ok but the performance is so awful I had to stop listening. Truely awful don't waste credits on this.

Just get Boehmer to read ALL!!

This narrator really killed the experience for me as others have mentioned. I honestly thought they were perhaps being harsh and I give every narrator a fair chance. But Dufris needs to learn subtlety, his character voices are so annoying and over the top it ruins the book. I appreciate that he's giving the narration some effort but he's got to let the book tell the story not his terrible impressions and hyperbolic 'baddies' with irreverent voices. Just overall, can't recommend based solely on the narrator.

Just get past chapter 1

This is a collection of short stories with different narrators. The narrator reads chapter one as if it is a VERY melancholy poem instead of a story. I had skip to chapter two and then it got much better. I’ll always wonder what that chapter was but it was waaaaaay to hard to listen to.

I’m not sure

Honestly I don’t know how to review this I love these books and these stories but the way Dufris is reading this book has made it impossible for me to even understand mentally what I’m hearing, he’s reading this as if it were theatrics, I can almost visualize him standing there holding the book open in one hand and a human skull held in the other. He’d be perfect for reading short poems by Poe or some other overly dramatic writer telling dark tales.

Twice I’ve found myself completely spacing out on the book just because of the guy reading, I can’t even say I recall any of the story and it makes me review kind of shaky for me, I don’t want to give the story a bad review or a good one because I can’t remember it, I don’t want to give the overall good or bad because of the same issue with the story but I also don’t want to go to high in rating there because the performance was horrid.

TL;DR I’d say buy and read this book yourself skip the audible. Ax Norman would have been preferable to William Dufris.

Disappointed in narrator.

Couldn't get past the first chapter. The narrator was far too dramatic. Very disappointed as I love the dragonlance books.

Narrator will make you drive into traffic

I remember reading some of these in my younger days (enjoyed Dragonlance for 34 years now) but this audiobook... wow. They list one narrator even though I hear different voices, but one guy who seems to do the most reading is terrible. I don't want to be insulting, but that slow...annoying... emotionless voice is painful. I bought this for a 2700 mile road trip, but I'd just drive into traffic. I don't want to continue listening to finish the stories.

Book is solid but the dude reading is terrible, the way he reads it is unbearable. I couldn’t make it past chapter 3

For the love of god do not purchase.

Very good story, interesting pieces from the overall story arc. This is a collection and not a traditional narrative. HOWEVER, the narrator and his performance are nearly diabolical. As someone mentioned, like a terrible ghost story rendition, this is a person who take Steven Segal movies seriously. Buy the book in print but under no circumstances purchase the audiobook.

the narrator ruins it

This is a book of short stories. The stories are alright, but the narrator ruins it. I had to listen at 1.5x because of the narrator. He reminded me of a bad ghost story teller that I listened to when I was a kid sitting around a campfire. I'm half way through and I don’t think I can make it through the rest of the book. If you're a hard core Dragonlance fan you might be able to overlook the bad narration if you listen at 1.5x, but I doubt it.
