Publisher's summary

A captain coming into his own. A handful of refugees stranded on board. A possible traitor in their midst. A voyage into the territory of the very enemy that pursues them. Sometimes legends become realities in unexpected ways. It seems that fate has the crew of the Aurora firmly in its clutches.

Good story but too short for 1 Audible credit.

Any additional comments?

This books should either be 2 for the price of one or 2 books should be combined into one.

Good story, combine books 2 & 3 Audible!

This story is getting more interesting as it develops. However my complaint, like other reviewers, is that it's a bit of a rip-off that books 2 and 3 are short. these two should be combined. Books 2 & 3 are mostly character development and the first use of the jump drive in a tactical sense so that's an improvement.

A fun space opera

This is book three in the Frontier series. We left Aurora as it jumped away from a battle in the “Rings of Haven” and they jumped further into enemy territory. I am starting to get hooked on this space opera series. Brown continues to develop some interesting characters. Nathan is starting to develop into a mature leader instead of a cocky space ship pilot that he was in book one. Near the end of the book Aurora’s light when she makes her jump has triggered the planet, Corinair’s, interest in a religious legend.

The book is well written, the pace is fast with plot twists and turns as the suspense builds. The suspense builds to a high intensity as the book progresses and it become evident there is a spy or traitor on board. There are some great space battles along with some chases. I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. Needless to say, Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job narrating the series.

High price short duration.

Story continues on from the first two "so called" books. I would rather call these books "Parts" 1 2 and 3 of one book. Sad to say they are not Worth the expenditure of a credit each or the cash of purchase seeing as they are so curtailed as to be rediculous.

Fun and satisfying military scifi

I withheld one star because the first three volumes should really be only one. The publisher's decision to break each major 8-hr episode into separate volumes seems to be a common revenue generation scheme. This is frustrating to the reader/listener.

Neither the science nor the military action is strong, the characters are interesting. Again, a little more character development would be good.

Having said all that, I find myself addicted and keep downloading the next installment as I approach the conclusion of the last.

One of the things I appreciate the most is the absence, so far at least, of overly obnoxious contra-characters and frustrating politicians. However, Cameron seems to be a constant irritant who cannot be assuaged. I hope that the final events of this 3rd episode correct her unrealistically implacable role. However, I worry that as with Joseph Campbell, Orson Scott Card and too many other male writers, she will continue to be the bitter ally/enemy or male hero-worshipper that seem to speak to the author's prejudice that delimits the roles of strong women.

EPIC Sci Fi!!!!

These books are awesome. They're well thought out in both detail and overall scope. Given that there are thirty books in the series that's quite an accomplishment. The series has many similarities with all of the major sci-fi universes like Star Wars, Star Trek, and the newer Expanse series/show by James S.A. Corey. If you loved any of these other narrative universes, you'll love this one as well.

The series is both gritty and hopeful, the space battles are epic and highly detailed, and the technologies are fantastically plausible.

The audiobooks are solidly entertaining and they make my time as a Doordash driver fly by. The narration is excellent and never gets old. I think I'm in the 23rd book or so and I still can't get enough, which is kind of ridiculous. A part of me would really love to see this get made as a show... but then again I'm not sure. Corey's books are way better than the show. The show is awesome but also kind of a let down compared to the books... so. ya. Not sure.

I Love Where the Story is Going!

Some have mentioned this book is too short to stand on it's own at just over 6 hours. I respectfully disagree as Ryk Brown is an author that can deliver as much action and story in 6 hours as a 10 hour book that would offer descriptions of how sunlight flickers of a ship hull in space etc.

Well developed characters and a full storyline. Looking forward to the next in the series!

Great but short

The powers that be are trying to shrink the amount of story per book like airline seats

Not enough book for the money.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I took off one star for book 3 because was cut off too short for my payment for one full book.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

what ending?

Which character – as performed by Jeffrey Kafer – was your favorite?

Kafer did well with all characters.

Could you see The Legend of Corinair being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

"The Legend of Corinair" as a stand alone book is not enough for a movie or a TV series.

Any additional comments?

Come on - not enough hours for buying a book.
