Jacob Marlowe has lost the will to live. For two centuries he has wandered the world, enslaved by his lunatic appetites and tormented by the memory of his first and most monstrous crime. Now, the last of his kind, he knows he can't go on. But as Jake counts down to suicide, a violent murder and an extraordinary meeting plunge him straight back into the desperate pursuit of life.

"Couldn't put this down"
I am not in the habit of listening to any book twice but might make an exception to this one. Full of surprises, not my normal type of book but so happy I took the chance on this one
The lead character, so
Well narrated and written I almost believed he actually existed
This book although not a comedy as per say made me laugh out loud on several occasions throughout the entire book. Great stuff. Also a bit naughty!!!
The narrator was excellent. I'm a crime and thriller reader and not to keen on fantasy books that are to OTT. However I took a chance with this book and I am so pleased I did one of my favourite listens. There are no negatives and I have been recommending it to all my friends. Just buy it and enjoy. !!!!!!
"best book so far"
Defiantly. Loved it the narrator's voice gave me chills. I have read this book and listened to it from the library but enjoyed it so much, I wanted to own it and liststen to it again and again.
Jacob Marlowe. Loved his use of language.
No. But I will be.
Lots of them. Near the end and the end.
Already own book two in paper back and book three is on pre order.
"How can you ruin a book this great?"
I have read this wonderful book several times and decided to buy the audio book for my partially sighted father, knowing that he would love it. However he thought it was awful. I was so shocked that I had to listen for myself. The reading is so monochromatic that he utterly fails to paint the brilliance of the characters and yet it's so infuriatingly dull that I can't even fall asleep I am so irritated by it. Please do not waste your time on the audio version and just read the book or get someone else to read it for you!
loved "I Lucifer" and was looking forward to reading more of Duncan's work, this however was a let down. While it had an interesting premise,I think there's only so many ways an author can describe genitalia, and if you take them all out of this book,it would only leave it at about 20 pages of actual plot.
The strength of the story. I like the inner life of the main character. Such strong feelings and uncompromising story, well written
The point in the story where they visit the television producers house and at the end when Jake gets the good news.
Never heard him read before but I will look him up on the Audible system
When wanting the end became the beginning.
Very strong story well written - I have not heard of this author before but I will be looking for anything else he has produced.
I like a well written book and I love rich descriptive prose and there is plenty of the latter in this book. In fact, I'd go so far as to say there is far, far too much. Instead of anything happening, there are pages and pages of deep and impenetrable burbling.Well written and well read burbling but the lack of anything interesting eventually proved too much for me and I gave up.
"Been there, done that"
He's the last werewolf, how did he become one? Where did all the others go?
