I no longer exist. My kidnapping, breaking and corruption at the hands of the half-human, half-demon Nephilim began the journey to nothingness. I had hoped to one day rejoin my loved ones in the outside world, but before I realized it, twenty years had passed. Time is a distance I cannot traverse. If there is any memory of me, it is distant. Worse, the spirit of Nephil, Lord of the Nephilim, used my connection with the continent to decimate the surface world. I've done horrible things in the past, but I'm now responsible for the deaths of billions. Billions. God...
And so I have removed myself from the physical world, and Nephil's reach, to live out eternity in Tartarus, a place of endless torture where the burden I carry crushes my soul, driving me to madness. I am weak and cold. My abilities are gone. And I am not alone in this hell. There are things here more horrible than I could have imagined.
But as much as I think I deserve this fate, I'm driven to find a way to escape. To exist again. To return to my new family-Em and Luca. To set things right. I am Solomon Ull Vincent-The Last Hunter-and I will exist again.
*The Last Hunter: Ascent parallels the events in Antarktos Rising, an adult thriller also by Robinson, upon which the Antarktos Saga is based. Listen to them in order for the full experience. The final two books in the Antarktos Saga will complete both storylines as they merge.

I don't know what it is about this author. I just find myself enjoying all his book's. Diving into each one like a puzzle waiting to be solved!
I'm running off to start the next one now!
It is always good to find a series of books that you can get lost in. With wonderful writing, fun characters that you grow to love or hate and wonderful narration, I cannot wait to listen to the next one in the series.
I could not put this series down, it was riveting
they were all my favorite, but solomon had to be the best
they all were my favorite
it made me read my history
very good read*********************it blow me away mentally
Did better... bought the entire series kindle version for my nephew. Can't wait to hear how he likes the adventure.
I would compare the entire series to Harry Potter... I liked the both very much.
His voice fit the tone of the book and the flow was just right.
This is good book overall, enjoyed the unique story line, had a very interesting plot.
Both Descent and Pursuit were nicely full of characters, back story, development, etc. Ascent is great too, but it seemed to lag a bit at times while using 5 words where 3 would've done just fine. That's not to say that it's overwritten, but Robinson does seem to want to make sure we know the back story a little too much sometimes.
Other than that, this is what I would call a great 'bridge' to what's coming next - as well as very nicely tied into Antarktos Rising.
To sum it up - not my favorite in the TLH Saga thus far, but definitely a must and a fun listen for TLH fans.
RC Bray did a nice job again (I especially liked how he matured Sol's voice a bit)
Books 4 and 5 coming out later this year? Nice!!! (Hope they come out before the Apocalypse though!!!)
