Publisher's summary

The fight to free the Earth from alien domination began in Live Free or Die, and continued in Citadel. Now Tyler Vernon and his troops aboard the gigantic battle station Troy face a desperate battle with the forces of galactic tyranny. And the very survival of the Earth and its people is not all that is at stake. The galaxy itself must choose to live free or die - and if the tyrants win this battle, darkness will fall across the galaxy for millennia to come.

Battle stations! Listen to another galactic adventure in the Troy Rising series.

Fitting end, but I hope there's more!

Well you have to read the first 2 books "Live Free or Die" and "Citadel" before this book, and like those this is another great story that I hope is continued in future books - I have no idea if there will be more books but really this could go on for ever and I would not complain

It doesn't seem like the war is over, but the battles are done for now - I know there is more story here and I just hope it gets done giving all the really good reviews here and other places about these books

Live Free or Die was really way more fun then the next 2 books mainly because it was the first, however there is nothing that makes these "not fun" but they are just a little less fun then the first one was - but seeing as there are really no more things to discover until the war is over this book and the last one are essentially more battle filled then the first one

Tyler makes a great character for sure, and he just cant stand the stupid politics that go on and seeing as hes so rich and powerful he really throws his weight around to get things done in a way that makes more sense really - like there are these Latin countries that have paid for ships and to send there sons up to run everything, but the Apollo Corp dont like that and requires some Americans to run things at the top so it can be done correctly, they say things like " my son doesn't have to do what his boss says because they are beneath them socially" and they have the mind set that "if its easier to make them loose then to win, then make them loose" so maintenance don't get done and Tyler just cant stand it and smashed a chair in front of them because they wont admit that they were wrong because Latins are like that I guess

if you remember book 2 where Butch talks to his teacher that has the scratchy voice and its because of breathing vacuum, you will love the ending of this book - it was just about the best I have ever read, if not the best - don't miss these books

This series was great.

I love this series. I hope there's going to be more books in the series. It's one of those books you can't wait to see what happens but you don't want it to end.

Best of the three!!!

Really, I have listened to this series maybe 10 or 12 times already!! Love it love it love it!!! I doubt Mr Ringo is going to write a follow up to this series (or complete my second favorite storyline, and complete the Legend of the Aldenatta) so I am hoping somebody writes some fan fiction. But either way the series does a good wrap up and really is fantastic!! Thank you!!!

Interesting and descriptive

I really like the Troy Rising series and the hope it offers the world of reaching to the stars. I do really like this third book but there were f-bombs dropped in the book and I think the story can be just as authentic without using bad language.

Not as fast paced as previous books

What did you love best about The Hot Gate?

I found the cultural interplay between the characters interesting: latin american vs. north american.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Comet, as she was the central character and is very dynamic.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the story, but it did not have as much action as the previous 2 books. I am looking forward to any more books in the series.

This is the audible version of a page turner

The story is great fun without needing to read too much into it. However, the sociopolitical aspects are not often covered in sci-fi, so that part is very well done and unexpected. The performance is incredibly subtle, with the reader moving in between voices giving each a subtle difference that made them easy to follow.

Typical for all authors these days. Trying to get

Any additional comments?

Awesome series of books, I have all three, but...

Typical for all authors these days. Trying to get 4 books out of a 3 book story. Lots of fill in! Too much personal details. DLA BLA, BLA BLA BLA, BLA.... More than once I yelled "Get on with it!!!" I don't know, maybe it is the stuff the chicks like, so they put it in. BORING!!! To much talk, not enough action! Don't get me wrong. This story is great! I am hoping the next book comes out soon. I will surely get it.

from conservative to liberal

what the Heck?! first book, great. second book, political progressive liberal much? What happened to getting people to stop being a whiny bunch of political crap?

instead of making men, this book asks a good, level headed American woman to start playing political games to 'appease' $&*%%/ misogynistic men and get them out of their ideas that RUIN the world instead of helping it get better.

misogyny is not a 'culture' it's flippin stupid and evil. Send them to the American drill seargent and teach them how to be real men. cut their commas with their whiny complaining parents. kick them out of the space force if they can't get over being misogynistic men.

it's not a culture thing it's 'ideology'. and I feel like i just read a book written by a liberal American politician.
