Publisher's summary

The fight to free the Earth from alien domination began in Live Free or Die, and continued in Citadel. Now Tyler Vernon and his troops aboard the gigantic battle station Troy face a desperate battle with the forces of galactic tyranny. And the very survival of the Earth and its people is not all that is at stake. The galaxy itself must choose to live free or die - and if the tyrants win this battle, darkness will fall across the galaxy for millennia to come.

Battle stations! Listen to another galactic adventure in the Troy Rising series.

The Troy Rising series

Well written and fast paced. Only wish there were more of it. Will need to look at more nm of his books. Hopefully some will be in the same universe.

I think both the story and Narrator are amazing!!!

I read the paperback version before my eyesight went and really enjoyed it. Then to find it on Audiobooks thrilled me to no ends. I'm just glad that some of my most favored books by my favorite authors are available unabridged the way the authors intended them to be. Oh and Mr. Ringo Sir get that pen pencil typewriter hell whatever you use to write with we need more, MORE, & MORE EVEN #4 & #5 an #6 even!!!

Tyler just rocks

The entire story line an that Mr. Ringo made the hero or anti hero in some respects normal an grounded. Always looking to think out of the box. Always looking out for his people well all the people. An the series doesn't get stale he shows the theatre from different views an keeps pushing the limits from basic science to galactic science by bringing out the better of people. it is a good listen.

Both author and narrator improve with each novel

Nothing is simple in life, but battle promises to grant some clarity. Or perhaps it just focuses the chaos. Ringo approaches cultural clashes, political bureaucracies, alien races with clear perception, humor, great writing and sympathy. I find myself hating the rangorra as a whole while sympathizing with individuals. He keeps pulling out new characters I feel I already have known. It's great writing, great twists in plot, and characters you love, even the ones you love to hate.

The narration is top notch. The characters are recognizable and the accents so much fun. Mark Boyett is one of my favorite.

War with Aliens who understand Jacksonian leanings

What made the experience of listening to The Hot Gate the most enjoyable?

Different perspective on space conflict - Aliens tend to have only evil intent - possibly lacking developed characters - Human characters tend to fit in political pigeon holes

What other book might you compare The Hot Gate to and why?

All three volume space operas - this is the resolution installment

What about Mark Boyett’s performance did you like?

Narration performance was excellent

Excellent

I really enjoyed this audiobook very much. My only complaint is that there are only three. This series has been left hanging for around a decade.
