Publisher's summary

The complete unabridged audiobook of J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit.

Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfortable, unambitious life, rarely travelling further than the pantry of his hobbit-hole in Bag End. But his contentment is disturbed when the wizard, Gandalf, and a company of 13 dwarves arrive on his doorstep one day to whisk him away on an unexpected journey ‘there and back again’. They have a plot to raid the treasure hoard of Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon....

The prelude to The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit has sold many millions of copies since its publication in 1937, establishing itself as one of the most beloved and influential books of the 20th century.

Very good.
Books are always richer in detail than the movies.

A classic, well interpreted

I've always loved Tolkien's writing and was thrilled to discover such a satisfying interpretation. We're all looking forward to part 2!

Flawless

Amazing book obviously, amazingly read with the lovely british diction you would expect for it. The very numerous characters are all very faithfully interpreted, I have a particular tenderness for Smeagol/Gollum who is beautifully read.

I 11/10 recommend this reading of the Hobbit, for those who want to discover it as well as some who already know it by heart.

Can't wait to listen to all the other Tolkien adventures by the same reader !!

Stop singing..

Very good book. Must say the movies have much more story and don't feel so stretched as the book. The book makes the adventure feel very short by skipping fast over aspects like the 5 army war. "Bilbo was hit in the head and when he woke up the war was over" Done. The narrator was very good until he started singing... There are like 20 songs in this book and he keeps singing and singing and it is so terrible that I feel I'm getting trolled.
